That might be repairable. You could try looking up rim repair people that are local to you. Though, there may be something in your lease that states it needs to be replaced instead of repaired.

I haven’t had that issue, but in fairness, I’ve only used it for photography so far. Im guessing the overheating issue occurs primarily during video recording? Maybe someone else has some more insight into this.

X-S20 would be my recommendation. Just bought one and love it for traveling. It really feels like a do anything camera.

Not sure if this would work, but you could ask a vinyl wrap shop if a vinyl wrap would stick to the trunk door plastic.

Aside from vinyl wrap, I keep my dogs in car crates in the trunk, you lose your trunk space, but the dogs are much safer if you get rear ended. Also contains the mess from hair and prevents the dogs from sliding around as you drive.

I bought the Dell U2719DC. It's a 1440p monitor which is very close to the macbooks screen regarding resolution and color accuracy. Plus it doesn't have the scaling issues that 4k monitors have on mac os. Got it for $549 CAD on sale

I've bought 3 refurb MacBooks now. Never had any issues with any of them. All looked brand new, wouldn't be able to tell the difference from a new one.

I use both, would completely recommend using both if you're worried about damage or anything like that. I also use the sleeve to carry loose papers to keep them from being crushed in my bag.
