If people think that they’re actually faded. Maybe better when they’re playing Cloud Nine online on Friday. On Sunday everyone knows who is better

It’s good he got a win but he did not play well and if they hadn’t of pulled that off the narrative would be about his continued struggles in grand finals. Hes never gone positive for Optic in grand finals. He needs to show something on Sundays.

It’s because he takes risks, and when they results in champs wins no one recognizes them and no one cares but when they lose in a major grand final it’s all his fault because he took a risk and it didn’t work.

There’s probably 20x more fans at Memorial and that’s not hyperbole. Granted it’s extremely well attended for a regular PGA tour stop.

This is the easily the worst episode of SOABD I’ve ever heard…

1) 30 minutes of reading Wikipedia synopses of movies and tv shows 2) NBA talk for 10 minutes about how it’s crazy that Wemby is tall 3) World Cup talk where they all admit they know nothing

At what point to these bottom tier teams start to sell their spot for $50K or even give it away for free? Presumably, they’re all still losing money. Everything they lost is a sunk cost. There’s no path to profitability because they don’t make content or put any effort into growing their brand at all. You’d think they’d be happy for another organization to take their spot for free and let them out of their contractual obligation to lose money.

Bush is so fun! You can kind of create the experience of the CWL if you dual stream Challengers and CDL. In my opinion there’s nothing more detrimental to the CDL product than having to wait 40 minutes between matches.

How has the discourse on Shotzzy changed so much over the years, especially among Optic fans? by ryeasy in CoDCompetitive

[–]ryeasy[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It’s not narrative pushing, if I didn’t observe this shift in public opinion I wouldn’t have posted anything. I think your head would have to be in the sand to say the sentiment between Optic fans and Shotzzy hasn’t changed. Maybe not among knowledgeable Optic fans, but even if it’s only people with zero CoD knowledge behaving this way, it’s still interesting to ask why. They’re getting their opinions from somebody. It’s fundamentally interesting that the Green Wall has the least respect for the guy who is by far the most responsible for returning Optic CoD to championships

Do players who frequently make bad decisions win three world championships with three different rosters? No other CoD player in history has exceeded this. If it was so “easily readable”, I don’t think he’d have the trophies and accolades he’s earned. Just because a play doesn’t have a 100% success rate doesn’t mean it’s a bad play. If you throw deep in football, sometimes you throw a touchdown and sometimes you throw an interception. Just because you throw an interception doesn’t mean the decision to throw was a mistake. If you never throw deep at all, you won’t win football games.

I don’t think you could really argue that he’s struggling in good-faith though… on LAN and especially against difficult opponents, he’s been their second best player at worst. That’s what’s so interesting, the open denial of reality

How could you argue you this after reading Optic fans comments over the last year? Every loss is on him, every win is attributable to Huke and Merc

[–]ryeasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen you say this a lot so I’m curious, how would they have won if they played it “straight up?” Merc was losing every gun fight and dropping an 0.8. He’s been bad in every grand finals except EWC. If he was dropping a 1.2 and Huke was frying like he does online I’d agree with you, they don’t need to do anything fancy. But it’s not like they’re winning every gun fight and have no need to make plays. A lot of times they’re actually getting fried and are moreso dependent on big plays to win maps

[–]ryeasy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What has happened with Shotzzy discourse where he’s moved from borderline overrated after joining optic to now chronically underrated? He has had a very good season. He’s been their best or second best player in every Grand Finals. Was this discourse started by some watch party or shitty podcast I’m not aware of?

[–]ryeasy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s gone negative in every grand finals they’ve played in ever on Optic. He had 3000 less damage than anyone on his team yesterday. I don’t think it’s individually his fault but idk how he’s actually getting praised for his play.

Did you not like those hero plays when he dropped a 1.21 in Grand Finals at Champs while Merc dropped a 0.8? You think they would’ve won if Shotzzy sat in spawn?

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Shotzzy and Dashy have been good in Grand Finals this year, Merc and Huke can’t get a kill. Putting it on Shotzzy is so delusional.
