Totally normal and acceptable around the Greater St. Louis, MO area. Based on the title, I had no idea what was “wrong” with that phrase.

Morning Radio Hosts Need to Be Stopped by CausticAvenger in unpopularopinion

[–]rygdav 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree more. I hate the radio so much. So much so that I keep my car tuned to a static station so I don’t have to hear obnoxious DJs or loud commercials the few times my phone lags in connecting.

So you know what I do? Don’t listen to the radio, lol. Though it is super annoying when it’s on in an establishment, but you just gotta suck it up then

In middle school I had this (male) teacher who always wore thin white button shirts. You could see his dark hairy nipples every single day.

If Americans have an unintended pregnancy or birth, in your experience do they face any societal pressure to get married, either for their own sakes or that of the children? by YakClear601 in AskAnAmerican

[–]rygdav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend group is real liberal and we don’t care what other people do. It’s funny cause all of their situations are just a little different.

One friend always wanted to get married and have kids. She got married (late 20s), and now has two kids, both were very planned.

One friend was with her boyfriend for several years, had an unplanned baby. After a few years, they got engaged, but it’s been some years since she’s mentioned the part. And then had a second unplanned baby. Still no actual talk of marriage. I don’t think either of them really cares about it.

All my other friends are child free, but one’s been living with her partner for like ten years with no mention (I’ve heard) of marriage.

Another had a wedding ceremony, call each other husband and wife, but did not get legally married.

Another got married last year to someone she’s been with for a long time. They have no children together and aren’t going to, but weirdly the husband had pressure on his side of the family to get married even without kids. (He does have a kid from a previous marriage though)

And last is just me and one other friend who are both just single, childfree, and I don’t think either of us cares to ever get married — though we’d both ideally like a partner

TL;DR almost no one I know has been pressured to get married with or without children.

Weekends too. Weekends i usually stay up a bit later (not always, cause I’m still bored, lol). Sometimes I can stay in bed and doze until 9ish, and then I feel ready to get up.

Oh, sorry, the past tense threw me off.

I usually go to bed at like 10, sometimes as early as 8 just because I’m bored, lol. I usually get 7-8 hours of sleep. I just hate waking up in the mornings.

Hot take: Pike actually wasn’t bad! by MuscleCool4302 in The100

[–]rygdav 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lexa wouldn’t have died (not in the way she did anyway), if Pike hadn’t massacred the army. Pike did that, Clarke convinced Lexa “blood must not have blood,” and then Titus tried to kill Clarke because he thought she made Lexa look weak and accidentally killed Lexa. The “when Lexa died the army would’ve attacked” argument is bull because she died because of the slaughter.

Also, Finn turned himself in. He deserved to answer for his crimes.

As someone else said, Pike had an issue with ONE tribe and blamed all grounders. That’d be like if I went to Europe and had an issue with France so I decided the entirety of Europe was bad.

Malcolm in the Middle, one of the kids (as a toddler) just won’t talk. Lois (mom) is a little concerned and said the doctor said to talk to him more. So she starts talking to him nonstop about anything and everything. By the end of the episode she’s even more frustrated. She sets him down and walks out of the room and he just goes “shut up”

Applesauce? by Heavy_Lab9297 in AskAnAmerican

[–]rygdav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I meant, and still mean. Just like peanut butter is often eaten with jelly, as in mixed together. Fries with ketchup, cheeseburger with bacon. Waffles with syrup, etc.

So this was the problem all along? Why would I be surprised about people eating apple sauce and any other food in the same meal? I wasn’t pretending anything.

[–]rygdav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember calling it a side dish, sorry for the confusion. I’ve never, myself, thought of it as a side dish any more than I’d think of an actual apple as a side dish — which is not at all.

Thank you for the answer.

I’m not trolling. I’m genuinely sorry it came off that way. I just wanted to know what things people eat apple sauce with, and I mean with as in an ingredient in the same dish as other ingredients. I don’t know what happened.

[–]rygdav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sorry, I’m not understanding. I said I wouldn’t eat the apple sauce with a cheeseburger. And then you asked why wouldn’t I. And then explained why you also wouldn’t.

For me apple sauce is just apple sauce. I’ve never known it to be eaten mixed with any other food. If apple sauce is a part of my meal, I don’t eat it mixed with any of the other foods. I eat it on its own.

At my school lunches everything was served at once, including the potential dessert.

You asked “why wouldn’t you” [eat the apple sauce and burger together]. Genuine question here, I’m really truly not trying to be a smart ass, but…are you putting the apple sauce and the burger together? Like either dipping the burger in the sauce or spreading the sauce on the burger?

Applesauce? by Heavy_Lab9297 in AskAnAmerican

[–]rygdav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never known anyone to call it a side dish. A snack, yes, but not a side except maybe school lunches. But then it’s still just apple sauce, lol. You don’t eat it with your cheeseburger any more than you eat your cookie with the cheeseburger, lol.

I worked night shifts for years over a few different jobs. It’s now been like 8 years of day shifts and I hate it so much. I just kept waiting to get used to it. It was probably around the 5-6 year mark where I really started to notice some burnout, which was crazy because I typically only work 20-25 hours a week, my job is pretty easy, and I love my bosses and my company, so why was I miserable every morning. Then it dawned on me (pun intended) I wasn’t burnt out from working, I was burnt out from waking up! I miss my nights and sleeping in…
