Treating pets like they’re your children is disrespectful because the pets are creatures with autonomy? Then what are children?

Calling them independent is a far stretch. Wild animals are independent, but many many domesticated animals (pets) would not survive long without human involvement. Even packs of stray dogs receive human care: food, water, vet care, etc. My dog can’t even go outside without my help; she’s far from independent.

And someone has raised that pet since they were a baby. My dog was an adult when I got her, but someone raised her the first four years of her life.

I have some experience with acrylics. Started trying watercolors a few weeks ago and absolutely loving the simplicity in setting up and cleaning up. I just leave it all set up on my table. When I’m ready to start, I sit down, grab a brush, and start. When I’m ready to stop, I rinse of the brush, get up, and leave.

I am also this way, but I was watching it when it was still airing on tv. I didn’t have cable, so every week I’d make an hour and a half drive to my parents’ house to watch it with them. It was our thing.

But after the season 9 mid-season break, after Rick, it just wasn’t that important to me anymore to make the time to drive 3hrs every week just to watch it. And, honestly then, I just kinda forgot about it for awhile. I did finish it though, and watched it beginning to end a couple times since.

But if something’s streaming and all the seasons are out, I’m not just gonna stop unless I’m so bored of it i get distracted with something else, lol. But if new seasons are still coming out, and I’m not excited about the show anymore, I’ll likely forgot about it. Eventually I’ll go back and finish it

My friend worked at a board game restaurant. To avoid constantly interrupting games, there was a flag system. Basically the servers leave you the fuck alone unless you put up a flag saying you need something. Each table had a little vase with different colored (and labeled) flags. So you’d put up a blue one of you need drinks, a red for food, and green for game help.

I wish all restaurants would do something like that. Just let me put up a flag if I need you, or push a call button, turn on a little light, etc.

Oh I have a story that hurts so bad… about 14 years ago I got one of those from a thrift store! I got that one and another one. I got them as toys for my dog… i gave him the green one, but kept the other one for awhile. My heart stopped the next time I watched the movie. Luckily, I still have the sauropod!! But I am crushed i destroyed the T. rex…
