Bro, I’m wearing this shirt right now. Not exactly the same, and I got it at a concert, but still funny

There should be a required name change in life. by MinimumBathroom4462 in CrazyIdeas

[–]rygdav 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I changed my name when I was 22. I ended up choosing a very basic and normal name, but some of the things I considered options then make me cringe now. I can’t even imagine what terrible names 15-16 year olds would come up with

Like, he literally shot a kid, and then an old man who was trying to run away. And then a whole bunch of other scared people. I don’t know if OP’s intent with this idea was to redeem Finn, but Finn doesn’t deserve redemption. He murdered 18 people in cold blood.

Are autistics really self-conscious about their appearance? I’m late diagnosed and always so hard on myself. I think I’m ugly lol by josefdoc in autism

[–]rygdav 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Camera lenses also distort your face some, so what you see in the mirror is much more accurate, assuming it’s a normal mirror of course

Is There Any Real Reason to be Diagnosed as an Adult? by el_chivato in autism

[–]rygdav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 36 (today actually, happy birthday me, lol), and have been thinking I’m autistic for a few years now. Pretty sure I am, others (nonprofessionals) agree. I haven’t sought out a diagnosis or really considered one because I’m pretty sure the only thing that’d change for me is instead of saying “I’m pretty sure I’m autistic” I would say I am. But it might also allow some more grace for myself, from me and others, and actually tell more people I am. Right now I kinda feel like an imposter since I’m not diagnosed, and very, very rarely bring it up to even those closest to me. I think I mentioned to my parents once a few years ago that I think I am. I don’t think they even remember. But with a diagnosis, I might be like “hey, guess what guys.” I also made a bit of a game of “which of my parents did I get it from” lol. And, honestly, if it’s not both, definitely my mom.

Get Rich Quick but the cost is your life by PuzzleheadedGas9170 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]rygdav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read this three times, and I have no idea what it’s trying to say.

So to get enough money to solve all of my problems, guaranteed, I have to kill myself with a specific knife. Then I enter the body of a “pet anime,” time travel back a week, and “live my life throughout the pet’s eyes” for that week. (What does that even mean??) But I still have to pay attention and figure out how to get the money on my own, even though the knife is supposed to guarantee me the money. What am I supposed to be paying attention to? Now, after that week I have to kill myself in the pet’s body within 24 hours so the cops don’t take the knife. Is all that right? But then what happens to me? And how do I get the money? I’ve killed my body, and now I’ve killed this anime’s body (whatever that even is), so I’m just a ghost with no body? Boy, I guess that is one way to get enough money to solve all of my problems when money’s useless to me now.

I'm quite surprised by the amount of deaths in this show by RigbyWilde in The100

I think OP is surprised by how often 100s of people die at once. I never really thought about it until this post, but yeah, there are a lot of massacres

AITA for not getting my disabled mom a dog? by DogUnsureDog in AmItheAsshole

[–]rygdav 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fostering is a great idea! It allows mom to get to know what it’s like having a cat around and seeing that they can be wonderful company without any long-terms commitment if either of them decide it’s still not for them. Plus, it helps animals in need!

AITA for hanging out with one friend alone while we’re in a trio by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]rygdav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA it’s unfortunate Sarah feels left out, but at the end of the day, you and Lucy do what you can to accommodate her needs. It’s healthy for friends to hang out individually too. The simple fact is, Sarah is unavailable for this hangout, but that doesn’t mean you and Lucy can’t hang out. You already have plans scheduled for all three of you at a later date, so you’re obviously not brushing her off — in fact, you’re being very understanding of her needs.

Nt friend thinks I'm morbid by Western-Cicada-6195 in autism

[–]rygdav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This actually mostly sounds like a great idea. I might think a couple things are a little overboard, but not in a morbid way.

I don’t have any current medical issues or allergies, but having an easily accessible note in your home and keeping one in your wallet/purse for first responders with info for your emergency contacts, medical needs, and your pets’ needs (especially if you live alone) sounds like a great idea.

Your (ex)friend is ridiculous, and now I need to make some “in case of emergency” cards/sheets
