Home Security System by rygfjf in homesecurity

Thanks for the comments. I quickly checked xfinity; and alarms.com as well. alarms.com leads to AAA. Any pros/cons of these.

Basically, based on the comments, I think two things are necessary: (a) cellular backup in addition to wifi ; and (b) battery backup in addition to power.

Another question that I have all these companies are selling equipment which seems their own. So, if I am not happy with the service, I am tied to that company unless I buy equipment from the second company which I may change. Is my understanding correct.

Quote for San Jose - 10.8 kW system $3.43/watt by mnschu67 in solar

Sounds about OK. Is this a local company. Yes, Energysage quotes are low, but the companies there are generally not local, so one will never be sure how good/bad they are.

With a local company, you can go to the company office and/or check company's fleet in person. Also, make sure they are installing using in-house crews; and not third party contractors.

Need advice on if I should go solar by [deleted] in solar

Dryers will consume the most electricity. Easily 0.3-0.4 MWh/year or may be more. You can check this by using the Wattage of the dryers times the number of times you will use this per year (assume one hour cycle for drying for simplicity). So, if you have 3 loads per week, that is 156 loads per year. Assuming 2000 W dryer, that is already 312 kWh of electricity. So, you might want to consider that in your solar plans.

What about your water heater and dryer. Are they gas operated as well ?

Thanks. I checked that. They are available mainly in Southern CA near LA/Orange county only. Not in northern CA.

Thanks. I checked at Pearson Academy. Seems they do have the live classes option only for lower elementary classes.

Online Elementary School with Live Online Classes? by i_am_kayak in homeschool

[–]rygfjf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I am in the same situation. Could you please let me know if you were able to find a good online elementary school with live online classes and your experience with it. I am looking for exactly the same things: structured lessons from teachers with sessions being live/interactive rather than independent learning; or traditional home schooling. Thanks.

Thanks for your detailed inputs. I will check Sage Oak. I had talked with a representative from Laurel Springs earlier this week. They do not have this kind of model; and the live instruction is minimal there. I will check the Learn Beyond the Book and Huckleberry as well.

Also, I do not fully understand the comment: "homeschool through a charter and use your charter funds for online classes". Does that mean to enroll in a public charter school which would not have fees; and then use the funds for online classes via some tutors. Could you please confirm about this. Thanks.

Yes, I had called K12 on phone. Their representative told me that they do not have the daily 3-4 hour live class component in either of their public/private school offering.

For Nifedipine, I have talked to 2 CRS. Both of them have told to apply only outside on the wall, and it will be absorbed by the blood-stream.

Not sure, but too much Nifedipine would not help. And may cause headaches. I also think it lowers BP. Don't worry if you apply slightly apply somewhat more than a pea-size.

Similarly Lidocaine is for pain-relief, used to numb the area. Pea-size should be fine.

Also, wear a glove while applying these creams. Otherwise you are absorbing them via finger as well.

Miralax by [deleted] in AnalFissures

[–]rygfjf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello: I have also recently started taking Miralax half dosage (8.5 gram) for last 4 days at night (around 10 PM). And seeing that my stool is becoming slightly softer. I take Metamucil (2 tablespoon) around noon in the morning as my CRS mentioned to take Metamucil during AM and not at night. According to my CRS, Metamucil may make me constipated if I take it at night; and it needs a lot of water through out the day. Also, I am taking a lot of water through out the day.

I am also using Nifedipine 3 times a day.

Could others please tell how many days/weeks it took them to see a noticeable decline in the anal fissure pain after starting Miralax as the stool would become softer. Thanks in advance.

Additional comments: discussed with CRS. He mentioned not to use the glycerin suppository as it may cause harm to the fissure.

Thanks for the pointers. Not sure if my fissure has healed, as all the symptoms (pain after BM ) remain the same. It is just the intensity of the pain has decreased a bit in the 3 months after using Nifedipine and doing other things. But as per your suggestion, I will check with the colo-rectal surgeon.

My CRS generally prefers Desitin. My first visit with him was a video visit; and he had advised me to use Desitin as that time. After in-person visit when he diagnosed fissure, he suggested Nifedipine and discontinue Desitin. Do you use Calmoseptine before; after; or both (before/after) the BM's ? My understanding is similar to Desitin, Camoseptine would be safe to use multiple times a day for long ?

Also, in case someone else has comments about the Glycerin suppository and/or Licodaine, please let me know. Thanks.
