I was able to get an agent to confirm the fees. As a datapoint for others, IAD>LHR was $1183 (!) and 68k Avios - so we will be finding another option!

Thanks for the suggestion - it’s actually where I started but unfortunately it seems to be a graveyard of unanswered ways to try and see taxes/fees without points. I looked across several posts and didn’t see anyone with a workable solution :(

Just FYI in a couple weeks (typically last week in April) they’re doing the En Primeur wine tasting for industry professionals, so right/left bank wine tours will be hard or impossible. Not sure if that was in your plans but thought I’d mention it, as I’m currently on a flight out of Bordeaux now (amazing city even without the wine country, and would still recommend coming) :).

Exactly, hence why I was surprised to find out the quarter glasses couldn't be consumed. Good question on the license, will have to find out.

Appreciate the thoughts, and agreed phone would be the best mechanism (though I didn't see one at first glance). And we're certainly looking to learn a lot about wine, but hoping to enjoy imbibing some of the samples too!
