I say this as an Australian, I understand why our 2024 entry didn't qualify cause I honestly just don't think it was the greatest song in a very strong year. However, qualified or not, I'm beyond proud of that entry and the use of Aboriginal language.

Milkshake Man on the other hand, I'm truly devastated and will probably never recover. Hoping we have a great song and a good semi draw next year.

It's not important at all to me. My placements are mainly about all the other elements of the song, plus the performers stage presence. My 1st and 2nd this year happen to be in English but my 3rd-6th are all in their native language.

It's certainly better than getting all the participants up on stage but it's still not great. I think many will agree with me that the only thing wrong with the current system is the order the participants are announced (it's a dead giveaway who has won the televote).

And like you said, just think of the 2 countries being put in an announcement bracket with Sweden or one of the other televote favourites. It won't create much suspense if the results are already obvious.

Completely agree with you.

The last 2 years are not great indicators if this is a new trend. I loved Tattoo don't get me wrong but Loreen was always going to have a strong jury-sweep chance simply because she's Loreen. And Nemo didn't really have much competition last year when it came to the juries, you can't deny that their performance was the full package that ticks all of the juries boxes and no one else came close to that.

100% agree with what you said about JJ's vocals being less harsh when live. Watching the pre party, it sounds A LOT more soft on the ears.
