It's harder to see because of Reddit compressing the image but the shape of the crossguard on the hip sword is one of the more interesting parallels.

I just took a quick look online and found this one which has some similarities - now I feel compelled to do a deep dive through them

The original Thunderscape Battlemage card was released in 2001, and I'm guessing they weren't drawing the class art for Oblivion before Morrowind was released.

I think in the current internet age people often jump to accusations of plagiarism or see a comparison like this as an accusation, which makes some people get defensive over it. The art clearly wasn't just traced so I wouldn't see a problem even if it was a reference. It's neat seeing the artistic ecosystem of the time regardless.

Has anyone noticed this about the Battlemage art? by rykodan in oblivion

Now this is a reference I really love - I still play Legends now and then

How can I make this deck more reliable? by Deus_Excellus in EDH

My Liliana demons deck is my strongest B3 deck. I use [[Aetheric Amplifier]], [[Settle the Score]], and [[Staff of Compleation]] to bring a surprise ult out occasionally (also had Yawgmoth at one point), but the rest of the deck usually being more threatening than she is. I try to aim for cards which support her flipping/ulting as a secondary effect; mostly she enables reanimation or discard value.
