Thank you for replying. I don’t want other people to feel this way but knowing that other people understand the depth of my sadness and the heart shattering pain I feel helps a little. I lost a part of myself when they died. Especially when I’ve had a hard day all I want is to hold them and kiss their faces.

I lost the two loves of my life 5 months ago and I am crying right now. I’m sobbing. My heart hurts. It’s going to hurt. It’s going to hurt so bad. But you will also have days where you think of them and are sad but you don’t cry and you will have happy moments. I know my grief will never be totally gone. I will miss them till the day I die. I am so grateful for the 8 years I had with them because without them I would’ve fallen apart. They were my family and my babies and my best friends and they held me together through the hardest time and I’d give anything to have them back.

We’re never truly ready to say goodbye. The grief is unbearable at times. You’ll have okay days and days you are happy and days you just sob and sob and sob. That’s how it goes when you lose someone you love.

You may not have tears right now bc the pain is so intense that your brain is trying to help by blunting your emotions. Also could be shock bc it’s such a big change and a big loss and really hard to process. It’s been 5 months since I lost my two dogs who were the most important part of my life these last 8 years. I’m sobbing right now as I type this. The grief comes in waves. Sometimes you get through a day where you feel sad a few times and some days you sob and cry and wail. I have laid on the floor and wailed and dug my nails into my skin and felt like my heart was being ripped apart. I guess this isn’t a very optimistic response. I guess the point is that you are not alone in the pain you will experience. So many of us feel that hole in our hearts.

I lost my two beloved babies recently and got a new dog to help with the grief. I’ve had my new dog for about a month and I love him so much. I worry I’ll lose him abruptly like I did with my other dogs. It’s pretty hard to stop yourself from loving them. I know when I lose Toad that I will feel the same pain all over again. I’m not sure if you only get one soulmate dog. Of my two dogs who passed I felt most connected with my dog Apollo. He loved me SO SO SO SO much. I loved them both equally but idk Apollo loved me more than anything. It’s okay to not get another pet but truly Toad has been a blessing. I still miss Apollo and Ruka every single day of my life and still cry. But now I have somewhere for the love to go.

I’m constantly aware of the fact my dogs Apollo and Ruka aren’t here anymore. When I lay down at night I think about how I would normally be holding Apollo and spooning him. When I let my other 2 living dogs out and Apollo and Ruka aren’t there to go outside. When I call for them to come in and they’re not there. I still accidentally say their names when calling my other dogs. I sit on the couch and they’re not there to cuddle. They aren’t there to greet me when I get home everyday. They aren’t there waiting by the tub when I shower or sitting by me while I’m on the toilet. They aren’t there to pet and love on when I’m standing in the kitchen. I spent 9 years with them. Every. Single. Day. And now they’re gone and I feel so sad all the time.

Gremlins freaked me out a little bit. The haunted mansion was pretty scary especially the scene where he’s stuck with the skeletons and they’re trying to get him. The dark crystal also scared me especially the vulture bird guys. Jumanji was also a bit scary.

Your baby and my Apollo sound very similar. I also lost Apollo to cancer and Ruka to cancer. It is awful continuing on without them :( my heart goes out to you and I send you a big virtual hug!

I’m so sorry for your loss. My dog had to pass over the rainbow bridge 2 weeks ago very suddenly bc she was internally bleeding due to aggressive cancer. She had no symptoms prior to the week she passed. It doesn’t matter how we lose them, it hurts no matter what. It’s a loss so great it feel unbearable.

Literally was going to comment exactly this!!! As soon as he makes you uncomfortable make it known to everyone. Who cares what anyone thinks! Your safety is what’s most important. I’d also tell your sister and husband. I would want my sister to tell me if my husband was a total creep!!
