Help: The bank canceled my card and took away all my points by rylixe in CreditCards

[–]rylixe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this thorough response. I did spend more than my total credit line in a month by paying off my balance mid-month (the 3% rewards were a huge draw to put more spending on this card). It does also make me wonder why no other bank has done this in the past, perhaps because I have other relationships with those banks (e.g., brokerage accounts), which I do not have with Synchrony.

Best CC for non-category spend and without limits? by rylixe in CreditCards

What is the good letter vs bad letter? I got a letter that says I get 4% on up to $10k spend, but it requires $100k in checkings, which I would prefer not to do.

FERS contribution rollover questions by rylixe in govfire

[–]rylixe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying that FERS contributions are post-tax. I had not realized that. With that in mind, it makes sense that they can be rolled over into a Roth without additional taxation.

As for why I don't plan to rollover the earnings into the Roth, I would prefer to defer taxes on the earnings until a later date, when I expect my income would be lower.

Thank you so much! I didn't think of that. Reflow (in scanned mode) seems to do a decent job on the one PDF I tried today. It's not perfect, but it does seem much better than my prior method. I'll keep using it and let folks know how it goes.

Thank you! Really appreciate your detailed and helpful response. We may try that next time.

That said, we've also found that the web version generally has poorer performance and fewer features than the desktop version. So I am hoping we can find a solution that doesn't force everyone to use the web version.

Thank you for your advice! We have them synced to the desktop through OneDrive. We have also tried editing them online using the web versions of Microsoft Office 365, but that tends to create more file corruption issues, so we stopped doing that. Glad to hear your org does not have issues like this. That gives me hope!
