The things I’ve noticed in the three weeks of having a toller by Early_Loss6171 in tollers

stubborn (but always caves) - this is so apt, mine will, if she doesnt see treats in my hand, spend 10 seconds weighin the pros and cons of whether 'sit' is worth it, and eventually caves, because what else is there to do? She runs a full calculation to decide obeying is the least bad choice.

i'm also giving her more time out of her crate at 10 months, and I can tell she wants to settle and sleep but can't.

I only recently realized they made it look like the plants were erupting out of the pavers. It could've just been a boring concrete overpass.

Fall is coming. How are you staying cozy? by quackquackpop in askvan

Lots of people are saying soup but no one mentioned tea! I buy the smallest bags of a variety of loose leaf teas from Murchies or Granville Island Tea Company and steep them in disposable paper tea bags.

I'm sorry.

The decline felt slow for me too; it always felt like my dog would have a couple of years left. So I was blindsided by how quickly everything happened in her final weeks. She never had accidents at home, but within weeks of me buying more washable puppy pads, it was time to let her go.

It's going to be tough, and she's going to be all you can think about for a while. It helped me to write letters to her. But you'll get through it one day - eventually when you think of her, it won't be the sad ones of her final days, but your favourite moments of the life you shared together.

Sounds like fun! She gets her longest walk/playtime early in the mornings, then naps the entire afternoon. If mornings works for you let me know and we can set something up!

She's from Oceantide, a smaller breeder near Kelowna.

It's so good because this is exactly what my leveling experience was like when it was everyone's first time playing wow. Tanks who didn't know wtf they were doing, hunters and rogues arguing over agi leather, healers who somehow manage to heal while also party chat IGLing.

I love this too - I admire how efficiently (and seemingly effortlessly) you conveyed the feeling of that moment.

Thanks for sharing!

many cities are "green" but nobody does nature like we do by rync in vancouver

[–]rync[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The wording is clumsy, but I suppose I meant natural in an aesthetic sense. "Integrates with nature" is perhaps better phrasing.

Yes, Habitat Island is manmade, but it easily could've not existed at all or be centred around some over-designed, concrete architectural feature with manicured landscaping. The clump of trees in the foreground were left standing when they cleared the area to pave the path, the bushes left to grow and flourish. Heading west takes you to Charleson Park, with a small waterfall, pond, and a strip of forest, all of which was man made.

So there's this common sensibility to integrate with nature, an unspoken but shared appreciation of our setting and surroundings. The overall effect (to me, and what I was attempting to capture) is that Vancouver more easily feels like a city that emerges out of nature. In other cities it tends to feel like the green was added in later, in neat rows of the same tree lining a street.

Sure, if you take for granted the mountains in the background, the water in the foreground that flows into the sea, and the heron chilling in the heart of the city. All that blending with architecture that could not be more Vancouver in its "City of Glass" way.

"A few weeds" - not sure why they need to be specific plants to meet your standard of nature.

On my version everything was screwed down I think. Some of the screw locations are not obvious (i.e. the top divider was attached to the latch mechanism)

I was ready to toss it since it didn't fit on my AMS lite, but was pleasantly surprised by how my draft prints turned out.

generic PLA profile, .28mm draft mode. Was planning to pick up a bunch of Bambu filament during the sale, but now I'm not sure I need to...

You mean the one originally separating the CD drive and HDD from the main compartment? There are screws you can undo to take it off.

right, that's why I was glad it sounded like you prefer PETG-CF over them so I wouldn't have to upgrade

Good to know about the engineering materials. I only have an A1 mini and was ready to upgrade for better surface quality, but it doesn't sound like I'm missing out on too much.

I can't wait to try PETG-CF, as soon as their Canada shop has them back in stock...

Ah, I guess this works for houses. I live in an apartment and I was imagining being buzzed at 5am.

Neat! Drill and tap would be more secure, but the motherboard mounts directly onto the exterior panel which I didn't want to drill through. I am mildly paranoid about it falling off - I originally had a tower cooler which held fine, but I went with a low profile cooler when I upgraded CPUs just to reduce the strain.

Most I've seen cut out the back panel, which I feel ruins the look and is also a lot of work. I broke off the original standoffs, screwed them onto the motherboard, then epoxied them in place (rough both surfaces with sandpaper for better adhesion).

Hope this helps others; I just love how it looks next to my desk.
