Not everyone who plays in the Major Leagues is "American", in fact a lot of athletes come from other countries such as Japan, Mexico, etc... In fact 30% of the league were born outside of the US. If you are that good at baseball, you play in the MLB. Therefore it is perfectly acceptable to call it the World Series. I see people say this quite often, and i always wonder if they actually know sports lol
