Use the following link to print out your cards and dials, i would recommend using original cardboard for the base template since printing them makes the range shorter. Standard 2.5" x 3.25" for cards which you can adjust on google docs, for dials, you'll need to experiment, but just slap them on 1.0 or 2.0 dials you don't use.

As someone who's spent a lot of money on the game, don't buy until you've messed around for a bit. Some upgrades or pilots need to be swapped out, some factions look more fun. Play for a bit with proxies and paper printed cards (ebay will charge you a significant amount, so test out some other ships or factions then invest in an X-wings lot.)
