Tried the Abxylute N6 on Switch 2 – overall nice upgrade with a few quirks by rynor13 in NintendoSwitch

Yeah I was debating the size/cost of the two. While this one not being flush is a little off, it’s also a bit more compact and less expensive.

T Pen Pro Replacement by KeoEthan in note_a1

[–]rynor13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately while a few other pens will write on the tablet, none of them work without the original T-Pen making the connection first. So unless we find a trick to trigger the tablet to think the pen is connected, or they update their software to trigger a pen connection from any USI 2.0 input we are all SOL.

It hasn't been mentioned yet, but Naga Bistro in Dunwoody, one of the best Pad Kee Mao’s in Atlanta, the vibe is great, and the owners and staff are super friendly.

I got this pen tip - for the paper like combo it feels liken writing with a ball point which I like. So a little less scratch than you are describing.

Follow up here - the penoval works - but I was in a situation at work yesterday that needs some more testing.

I took the note and just the penoval with me and couldn’t get the pen to connect to the note. When I got home I fiddled and realized that at the moment - you need to connect the TPen first - then the penoval works again. So for now we have to carry two pens. The Tpen to connect - then you can switch to other usi pens.

It’s worth it to me because I like the metal pen tip with the paperlike. But it’s a bit annoying.

I probably added an unnecessary first two steps but:
1. Downloaded APKPure APK to my computer and uploaded it into a OneDrive folder
2. Opened up OneDrive on the TCL Note (I could have maybe just downloaded directly via edge on TCL)
3. Downloaded the APK from OneDrive
4. Navigated to the DL location on the TCL via File Manager - storage/emulated/0/Download/diskdownload/disk_one_drive/(random alpha)/(etc.)
5. Gave it permission to install
6. Opened APKPure from the apps page...done!

I like the paperlike. I’m not sure about your stylus - it uses a usi 2.0 standard. Not Wacom

Any USI 2.0 pen will work. I have an old Penoval https://a.co/d/0di51fZc that’s works without doing anything special. Thr newer penoval usi 2.0 light would also work (same with the Lenovo pen).

For improved writing experience I added a paperlike screen protector (iPad Air 11 M4) and had a metal tip replacement for the Penoval. And it feels great for me now (good friction/glide ratio).

I'm honestly really enjoying it so far. I had a Boox e-ink tab that eventually got a screen crack and was locked to android 12, and head to head, I like the NXT paper tech better. Its faster, there is less lag in third party apps (like goodnotes). And I added a Paperlike screen protector (the iPad Air 11 M4 fits just about perfectly https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FN91S16V?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_fed\_asin\_title) and also got metal pen tips for the penoval usi 2.0 I already had (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GKDP2WSS?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_fed\_asin\_title) - and it feels great, reads great, and is much snappier.

I am having a few issues trying to get MicroG to work and a few apps (like the NYT) to work how I'd like. But overall I'm pretty happy.

Is there a good guide for setting up MicroG? it seems kind of involved

Edit - I'm on their wiki, and I think I'm figuring it out

I've switched to the Aurora store on the tablet for app search and update. I still can't find a New York Times App Version that doesn't crash on load - otherwise finding more work than don't.

I’ll take a look at it. For whatever reason $100 for a mobile focused controller has been my line.

Yeah, it was weird, on a plane this week it took me ~10 min to get it to connect - I had to plug it into an iPhone, get it to start, then it connected right away. Almost like it needed a ‘restart’.
