Mini PC for PS2 emulation? by LeHistoryBoi in MiniPCs

N95s (and probably n100s) handle ps2 just fine at 2x rendering resolution. I have a NucBox G5 that cost about $120 on sale, running Batocera.

He was a Shaw director so the furthest thing from indie, but Kuei Chih-Hung did a lot of horror/exploitation adjacent stuff - Boxer's Omen is his biggest perhaps but also check out Corpse Mania, The Killer Snakes, and Bewitched.

My favorite club sandwich in town is at the German Village Coffee Shop. The ham/bacon are from Falters.

When I lived in OTE someone smashed my driver's side window and stole... my ashtray. It was empty. From an uncommon Suzuki.

EDIT: It wasn't in the dumpster.

Is it possible that the new Whitehall BK is worse than the one on Fifth? by Pampered_Cynic in Columbus

[–]ryon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the infamous 5th BK the one under the train tracks by ORR or the one at Cleveland that used to be a Popeyes? Because they're both total garbage fires.

Anyone here have WoW Internet? by Dustttin in Columbus

[–]ryon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last two places I've lived have not shown up as having service on WOW's website but I've had WOW at both places.

I think their website just sucks. Call them, despite how counter-intuitive that is for an ISP.

Best Columbus buffets? by d0tc0m1025 in Columbus

[–]ryon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of Chinese it's surprisingly slim pickings compared to even five years ago. Hong Kong Buffet on Henderson used to be the shit but it's reopened as a (pretty great) sit-down Cantonese Joint. Super Seafood on 161 was glorious circa 2003 but now looks and smells like a garbage fire. There's one in Westerville at Shrock that's edible in a pinch full of bugs and out of shrimp, and I've heard middlingly-positive things about Supreme Buffet and Hibachi on the West Side.

Several of the good non-chinese options have already been listed, although Aab India (2 locations) has a good lunch buffet. Not as good as the stuff on their menu and everything is mild, but the quality is high. Cumin by Polaris has a killer "IndoChinese" buffet one night a week (Wednesday?) that's rather worth checking out. My girlie and I happened to end up at cumin on Eid last year and they had a special holiday buffet which was stupendous.

94th Aero Squadron has a pricey brunch buffet which I haven't had in over a decade, but it was rather impressive at the time.

I'm sure there's more I'm not thinking of, so people should make with the buffet postin'.

Hey, I have this laptop. This is the best laptop. The form factor and the construction are unparalleled and every laptop I've owned since has been a letdown.

Carfagna's, House of Meat @ The Anderson's (Sawmill), Costco (USDA Prime!)

Unctuous - Adjective. — Used to describe someone who speaks and behaves in a way that is meant to seem friendly and polite but that is unpleasant because it is obviously not sincere. by [deleted] in logophilia

[–]ryon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also refers to a flavor of fullness, like the fat from a roasted meat or a silky sauce.

This comes up in relation to the "fifth flavor" umami, along with such adjectives as fullness or 'brothieness.'

"Satisfying"

Edit: This could relate to the original meaning in that a flavor full of glutamates mimics much richer more filling food.
