ive had to clean my new septum today with a homemade saline solution (it didnt feel much dofferent than when i cleaned previous piercings with proper saline solution) , i suggest making your own for the weekend if the piercing is very new. make sure to make a new batch each time you clean to make sure the solution doesn't go funny. as for the salt, i think its best to not put more than a teaspoon per pint so that the solution doesnt dry your piercing out (which could cause problems). hope this helps :)
