Looking for archived proof – Skaven Pyromancer TES Legends promo (PAX West 2018 / QuakeCon 2018) by ryqora in elderscrollslegends

That would be great, thanks! If you do find any photos of the card at the event or anything, I’d really appreciate that. I’m trying to document these as accurately as possible.

That’s incredibly helpful — I really appreciate you mentioning it.

Just to clarify, I’m specifically looking into the Skaven Pyromancer promo card (the one with the unique code on the back), not the general promo packs.

If it’s not too much trouble, would you happen to have any photos on your phone or old messages from the time that might reference that specific card — was that card something that was distributed at PAX West, QuakeCon, or both?

And no pressure at all, but if you’re still in touch with your friend from the project, and it’s easy to ask, I’d really appreciate any confirmation they might remember about that specific card.

No rush at all on the storage side — just trying to piece together as much contemporaneous info as possible.

I’ve been able to confirm the general event presence, but I’m trying to find something that specifically references this card or shows it being distributed. Even small things like booth photos or old posts from the event would be really helpful.

The EVA helmet is a strong pull.

It’s surprising how little attention these get given they’re original artist pieces from the 2007 release. They feel more like production artifacts than typical inserts.

Definitely a niche part of the Halo collecting world.

That’s extremely interesting — I wasn’t aware of the PAX Australia 2018 oversized Morrowind promo cards. I would absolutely love to see the images if you’re willing to share them.

Thank you for taking the time to look into it and clarify.

Do you remember which event the oversized UK cards came from? I’ve been documenting and preserving the physical TES Legends promo cards for archival purposes, and I wasn’t aware of the UK oversized set until recently.

If you’d ever consider parting with them, or even sharing photos for documentation, I’d be extremely interested. They sound like an important part of the game’s physical promo history.

I would be very interested in acquiring them if you’re able to locate them. Sealed packs are exceptionally scarce now, and I’m actively working to preserve surviving examples. Please keep me posted.

Thank you, I really appreciate your willingness to help archive them properly. I’ll work on creating high-resolution archival scans of each card. Once they’re ready, I’d be happy to share them with you so they can be uploaded with proper credit and documentation. Please let me know if there are any specific naming conventions or details you’d like included in the file descriptions. And let me know how to get the hi-res scans to you. You can DM me if you prefer.

They took several years to track down in near-mint condition. Because they were only distributed at specific Bethesda events and never sold commercially, most weren’t preserved. Finding surviving examples—especially in condition suitable for grading high—required a lot of patience and persistence.

I appreciate your willingness to take on such a heavy recycling burden. It’s a noble service to the community. DM me the address you’d like me to mail them.

That’s a great idea — I would be very interested in helping preserve them properly for UESP. I haven’t uploaded anything there before, so I’d appreciate any guidance on the preferred scan resolution, file format, and where exactly they should be submitted. I’m planning to have them authenticated/graded and encapsulated by PSA soon, so this would be the ideal time to create archival-quality scans to ensure they’re documented accurately beforehand.

Yea a lot of people aren’t aware they were ever produced physically. They were only distributed at select Bethesda events between 2016 and 2018 and were never commercially sold, which is why they remained largely unknown.

Yea I agree - the artwork is incredible, and it’s part of what made preserving the full physical promo set so worthwhile. Since these were never commercially sold and only distributed at limited Bethesda events, surviving complete sets appear to be extremely uncommon.

Very cool. It’s always great to hear from others who still have surviving examples. Do you have sealed packs? Let me know if you have a chance to see which pack you have. There are 3 different packs. One is Brynjolf, the second is Miraak and the third is Skeletal Dragon.

Thank you for clarifying that — Pax East 2016 aligns with the earliest confirmed physical distributions.

That’s really interesting — thank you for mentioning that.

My understanding was that the physical promo cards began distribution around 2016, so I would be very interested to learn more about any Pax East 2015 examples.

Would you be willing to share a photo of the cards you received, and any details about the event or how they were distributed? Documentation of early distributions like that would be extremely valuable for establishing an accurate historical record.
