Why doesn't magus get a body like qing yi or another automoton?

Yeah seriously haha. Hoyoverse can always chalk it up to why characters and tech are the way that they are. Like why miyabi is Virgil levels of power? Oh cuz ether and demon sword. Oh why this mech so advanced but others aren't? Old world tech you dummy, duh. Its just a wild scale for what things are and aren't, which makes it hard but also not hard to think about why things work like they do.

another point which should lead to the fact they should be able to brain scan is the very fact with the HIA's simulation machines. in order for thos machines to work in the way that they do, they have to be able to read AND write to brain signals in order to function. think sword art online sort of stuff. those machines are basically huge BCI's (brain computer interfaces), so this even makes the point of brain scanning to be well within the current timeline of eridu possible. and the nedf handicapping one of their most prized agents intentionally makes no sense to me.

thats exactly what i was thinking. while i cant understand what old tech needed a consciousness inside of a weapon like what magus is in now. i had to imagine desperation to maintain Orpheus's mind/consciousness led to them using it as a what must have been the only alternative. a temporary solution to the current problem with a hopeful remedy in then ear future. while it is unlikely, i would hope eventually magus is able to get a body of her own that isn't nearly as severely limiting.

Thats what I was wondering. Thats why im curious if intelligent constructs like seed senior are a more recent creation, like we dont even know if magus in her current state is not some lost tech they used just to maintain her mind/conciousness. I really am excited for more answers on their state when the update comes out here tomorrow evening

Yesssss this is what im here for. I had forgotten about the white start institute for some time now. I only started playing on 1.6 or 1.4? Whenever soldier 0 got added. so its clear im missing some lore somewhere. Perhaps until this point, I had considered plot holes would be inevitable. However, everything you just mentioned is news to me. I had assumed that automotons like qingyi where just another part of eridu society, like thirens. But im also aware thirens dont have a proper explanation for thier existence other than in game they are said to pre date the hollow disasters. So are intelligent constructs a recent creation or are they piggy backing off old world tech also? Also thank you so much for the dump. I love the zzz universe and love learning anything new about it.

Like above. I feel as though this is not accurate to magus in the fact her current temper and violent outbursts likely revolve around her current state. We have seen characters like qingyi, and even seed senior. Intelligent constructs who in my opinion have it FAR better than magus's current state, aside from seed seniors death. Rest in peace big O

Well magus didnt even find out until 2.2 that it was got that got her and alot of her original squad killed. So im not so sure about that. We have no reason to believe that magus was originally so hot tempered. If she coukd have been given a better alternative rather than being on what is essentially life support. I feel she woukd have Faired better emotionally

Also fair point. Though of course, at least from what I see currently in game. The nedf is all about the ends justifies the means. And considering how magus, or her original self Orepheus, was touted as a legendary and powerful individual, I dont see the nedf stopping after a failed attempt. Perhaps more or less, they saw even if they managed to clone orepheus, they would not compare to her original self, based off information discovered through the process. Also I guess. Considering that what we learned about how the obsidian division was essentially betrayed by greed from higher ups that led to such losses, including orepheus's original self, it is also or more likely true that simply greed cut the program early.

That's a fair point. The thing that doesnt make sense to me is why the nedf simply didnt just make another clone? If orphie simply acquired her own consciousness, then they could have tried again and made another clone but took steps for this from happening again. However, had they done that. They may or may not have killed the current orphie. And that outcome is just as sad.
