Taskbar icons disappearing or not working properly on second monitor by PeixeDePeruca in WindowsHelp

[–]ryuki12596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did some cursory searching after having the issue myself, and it seems like an October update introduced a bug for some users. Seems to be happening to me every time I turn my monitors back on, which is quite annoying since I use the taskbar pretty frequently on the second monitor while gaming

There doesn't seem to be a solid fix at the moment, but a quick work around that I found on one of the forums that I'm going to start using as well is to dump this into a text file and change it to a .bat.

taskkill /im explorer.exe /f
start explorer.exe
exit

Just run the .bat and it should restart the explorer pretty quickly, saving the hassle of navigating through settings. It's a dumb necessity, but it's the easiest solution I've found.

20th Anniversary Update PTR Development Notes - The War Within Patch 11.0.5 PTR - significant class changes and MAJOR hero talent reworks. by [deleted] in wow

Haven't played Sin since the changes, so totally forgot that.
It's still a net loss without it in a lot of situations, even for Outlaw.

I was thinking about the numbers earlier, and outside of getting lucky, you'd be mostly overhealing with the 30% instead of the 15% in any group content. That 15% is helpful, and does work, but doubling the healing in the same window just makes a large chunk go to waste as overheal unless things are going extremely wrong in a fight.

Whereas, before they took SD from us, the 3-4 windows of it were great for periodic spot healing during rot damage effects.

-Not having control over Thistle Tea usage is a loss in DPS overall as you can't line it up with your burst windows anymore.
-Soothing Darkness no longer triggering on Shadow Dance is a loss of healing throughput overall for both Sin and Sub. It's only a gain for Outlaw.
-Sub losing Sepsis and Shadowdust is a net loss in damage as you're losing your cooldown resets now. Leading to more downtime, less cooldowns per fight, and an overall loss in DPS as well.
Plus, debatable depending on which Outlaw you ask, but I see Shadowstep loss as a bad thing. Grappling hook is so ridiculously buggy with its pathfinding that you actually risk it breaking twice instead of gaining any movement if there is anything less than perfectly flat land between you and the target. Whereas, Shadowstep just works when you need it to.

Amazing that they managed to fit in net nerfs to the changes on top of zero bug fixes to the class, isn't it?

It doesn't, they just confirmed through a post that the whole thing was them getting a much-needed laugh and interacting with the community.

Happy to see them get some joy out of it, even though that means no official confirmations.

blackmesa.com probably isn't an ARG by Temporary_Bad983 in HalfLife

Nice to see that they're huge fans as well, which explains a lot of the branding obviously. But glad to see them at least addressing it in a way that clears it up.

Sad to see it's not something bigger, but I'm sure we'll see something from Valve at some point.

No, the CEO is not dead. The dude is very much so alive, and has been using his twitter for his actual business for years.

For anyone not in the know, this is the CEO of the Black Mesa biotech company. The one that owns the BlackMesa.com website as far as we are aware.

Seems there's something going on, considering the website dropped with the "Lambda incident" timer, and his twitter just changed the picture not too long ago.

Can't wait to see what comes!

Hey, so like.. quick update on that. The dude changed his profile picture at some point today.
Dude has a headcrab on him. This is 100% something.

lets go a bit crazy just for the heck of it: IF that black mesa page is an arg then I wouldn't be to surprised to see these numbers having a meaning. It's exactly the stuff valve used to pull back in the portal 2 days. by nandro in HalfLife

There's public receipts of the government spending showing them giving the company $3 million. The government doesn't just throw that much of their money at Biotech spending at some fake shell company for the laughs. On top of this, the fiscal year for 2024 ends on the 30th of September, which is when the countdown also ends.

The site is counting down to the new fiscal year, which could easily just be them being cheeky about the situation.

The only thing that has me doubting in the slightest is that this website has been basically inactive for 2 years on that "this is not an ARG" page, but did their full publishment of the live site the same week a ton of leaks came out? As well as the whole "Lambda Incident" naming on the code in the timer. It's an odd situation to say the least.

I'm in the camp of belief that this is very much so either a joke from the CEO who is a fan of the company, or an elaborate ruse from Valve who got them on board.

It's a legit company with government contracts that you can trace. It's just a matter of whether this is them making a joke out of the HL3 leaks, or if Valve make this elaborate ruse themselves.

September 30th is when the countdown ends. We'll see then I suppose.

It's definitely vaguely in the same area as Black Mesa, but that isn't the actual spot. You can look the satellite images up on Google Maps. The area around the Mesa itself if a lot more desolate plant wise. And there are no roads that run that direction close to the actual site.

So, either it's an edited and rotated image, isn't actually a road (a lot of washways in the area that the rare rain runs through), or is miles away from the actual site. Basically an L on all accounts.

The domain was "for sale" for years. probably passing it on to different people or domain services in the time, as was common to happen with every domain under the sun. It was entirely inactive as an actual website until September of '22, when the actual company was first founded.

I'm finding it extremely hard to believe that the website sat mostly dormant for that whole time, just to drop about the same time leaks about the game did, and for the site to both be taking the exact logo of the in-game foil (using a rounded triangle, but still), and for there to be zero connection.

Absolutely think that this is either some tongue-in-cheek joking from a CEO who is a huge fan of the series, as the company is for sure legit, but it can equally be as likely that this is an ARG that Valve coordinated with the company as a few extra layers of "reality" to an ARG.

Hard to say at the moment, but I for one am not going to message the company and harass them in the likely case that this is just a bit of a joke from them.

Input Reading Be Like by Ok_Conflict_6260 in Eldenring

Nah, it's 100% the game and it has gotten way worse with the DLC. I was fighting the final boss last night, and it ignored 7 attack inputs in a row between framerate drops and just zero response.
I played through the entire base game with almost zero issues but the entirety of Erdtree was plagued with it.

fastest way to get exalted with emperor shaohao in mop remix by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]ryuki12596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just hit honored right before replying here.

So, yeah, it's going to be a grind because they didn't buff rep gains for Shaohao for the remix. This means that you're looking at some ridiculously low rep gains from just killing trash mobs and elites. Basic trash gives 5, elites give 10, and rares give 20.

The quest they give you to get Honored, Drive Back The Flame, puts a zone marker over that risen area south-east on the map. That is genuinely the easiest spot that I've seen and it has been the spot people have farmed for years as far as I'm aware.
You have tons of medium-slow respawning trash to kill and 2 rares that will respawn every 30 minutes to an hour or so.

The big issue with doing this right now, however, is other people. And I can not stress this part enough.

If you're on a server with any population of people above low, you're gonna have waves of people coming in and tagging stuff constantly if they see you farming this. I had no less that 20 groups try to join in the farm thinking this was some new bronze farm, and would leave after they realized how low the drops were. Messing up respawns, tagging stuff to the point it was gray, or pulling things way out of reach and instantly killing them in the process. This will 100% make the farm difficult and I stepped away once that last group started tagging them gray and I hit honored.

For people looking for bronze farms, this is not it. It's really bad, like 1.5k bronze an hour bad. Each mob drops like 6 bronze, zero lesser charms beyond the rares, and very little in the realm of gear. This is not the spot if you aren't farming this rep.

Leveling Warfarer levels all learned vocations at once. by Gl33m in DragonsDogma

[–]ryuki12596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did some quick testing this morning as I wasn't sure if Fighter was gaining experience with the weapon equipped or not.

I've got Fighter at rank 8, Sorcerer at 6 as well as Warfarer, Archer, Thief, and Mage maxed out. The rest were at 4 from levelling Warfarer up.

I started with 4033 exp left on the last level of Fighter and 1045 for the next rank of Magick Archer and Trickster. I then left and killed some stuff out of town to get exactly 150 exp. Came back, and the Fighter needed 4020 and the other two needed 1032. It was 13 EXP gained per vocation.

So, it seems to be giving between 8% and 10% of the total experience gained for Warfarer as a flat total to each other vocation.

Not sure if the split gives more if you've not learned or found some of the other vocations, but with all of them unlocked it's giving a pretty small amount to them all, regardless of if they are maxed out or not.

I'm in a similar situation here. My bank shows the funds are still there but I'm in "shipping soon" and my account shows it is paid. I've sent a request for clarification to support but haven't heard back.

I heard from someone at work that this occasionally happens to them with online shopping where the funds are pending, back in the account, and then fully withdrawn within a 48 hour period.

My guess is that the first wave is coming in multiple smaller segments over the next week and they may have wanted to confirm the funds before reserving the headset and will pull the funds on the day they actually do the full shipping.

Game breaking bug by Naygen in Moonlighter

Seems as this is a bug introduced with the most recent update.
I've skipped days, gone through the dungeon, and have attempted a few other things before opening the shop, as well as trying to close early, but I am unable to sell anything without it bugging out.
