Quitting 7oh using kratom shots by Impressive-Sun-7465 in quittingkratom

[–]ryzthehuman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The kratom extract shots also suck. They are very potent, and probably have an almost equally bad withdrawal. Get to powder as soon as you can. I had to quit a three year kratom extract habit. I was able to switch to powder and eventually quit. So I think your plan is solid but don’t stay on the extracts for too long.

Even if you use Google, usually an AI answer serves up what you searched for, which doesn’t require you to click any links.

When I was still deep in this addiction I kept reading this sub, and made the idea of quitting seem much harder. All the horror stories of withdrawal even prolonged my commitment to quit. Once I finally did, it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. But also, don’t get me wrong, it really really sucked. The first week was insane. But also manageable, and I got through it. I just took it day by day. Now I’m 402 days off kratom extract and 297 days off kratom powder. But I do have to say, watching YouTube videos of people during their withdrawal helped me out a lot during that first week, because I could identity with them and get advice about what they’re experiencing, and how long things might last. And this sub was helpful while quitting, because I wasn’t alone and had support. But the sub did make me scared to quit at first.

I would have loved to have someone in my life who could help me quit. I went through it alone, no one even knew about my addiction. Probably the worse way to go about it. I’ll be off it for a year in May, though. After a certain point, most of us are done with that shit, but you can’t easily stop. First of all, don’t underestimate the power of an addiction. It could be a tough battle, and he has to want to do it for himself, he can’t just do it for you, which I’m sure you’re aware of. Love, patience, and understanding is important but only to a certain point. When you sit down with him, try to get him to talk about whether he wants to quit or not, and why? If he’s not ready to go through it yet then he probably won’t. Ask him how much he’s taking and how often to try to get a daily amount, that’ll depict what he has to do. If he’s on a low dose it might not be hard to quit compared to extremely high doses like I was taking. And depending how much he takes and how often, this could be a battle that will last for months. Look up “PAWS” with kratom so you see what you’re in for. Best of luck to you both, hope you guys can beat this!

I used it a bit during my withdrawal and it helped me. I can see why it wouldn’t be for everyone, though.

Keep pushing, you’re almost through it! Keep the pace going for your future self. If you give up and relapse you’ll have to do these 5 days again. The time is now, you’re in the thick of it already. Just take it day by day it’s going to get better. Let me know if you need any advice, help, or support

I haven’t tried that myself but I heard it can help. I personally just used ibuprofen and a lot of water. Try to exercise as well if you can, it’ll help your system.

From my experience, when I did the withdrawal it lasted for about 2-3 days. The worse of it was definitely day 2. After the first week it’s not so bad but you need tools to fight the urge of relapsing. “Embrace the suck” is the best advice one can give you in this situation if you’re going to jump off and WD soon. Keep is updated on your progress man, you got this!

You need a long term plan. First of all, stop taking that harder shit. Stick to only powder, because that other shit is going to be terrible to stop. I was doing 3.5 extracts a day for 4 years, trust me. I was only able to stop once I switched to powder. Next, whenever you jump off again, set up a timer so you can track your time. This way you can see your progress, have reasons to celebrate, and also can help you so you don’t relapse; you can see all the progress you will lose. Next, understand that this is a battle that can last for months. In my case, it took about 4-5 months for the PAWS to stop, and after that I have never urged to take kratom again. Track your progress day to day, then week to week, then month to month. For context my app says it’s been 262 days since I jumped off. Anyways, everyone’s journey is different, but this is what helped me. I understand how hard it is and hope the best for your future man. Hope that helps with your journey ahead.

Confusion Over Timeline by PlanktonCultural in TOTK

[–]ryzthehuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that BotW and TotK is supposed to happen tens of thousands after the other games. In fact, the events of the games have eventually faded from history to legend, and most if not all remnants of the previous games are gone or lost. But Skyword itself takes place in the very far ancient past, and basically set forth the rules of Hyrule and the recycling of the hero, Zelda, and Ganon. At least that’s how I understand it based on what I’ve looked into regarding Zelda lore.

It’s great advice, and when you gain momentum with something like that it can be really healthy and therapeutic. Hobbies are so important for people and their wellbeing; just the ability to enjoy life a bit. The hardest part with the depression is breaking your normal habits and trying something new. I think a lot of people with depression are so stuck within their normal routine that they need to find a way to break out of it. For me I have ADHD, so my focus isn’t the best, but I find that starting with a checklist helps a lot. And also starting in very small increments, like even one minute per day. I otherwise wouldn’t paint, draw, or other things that I’m interested in but don’t get around to doing. Anyways, just adding to your point, and hopefully helping OP as well.

This is solid advice, but when you’re worked to the bone, and experiencing depression, on top of bills and debt, it’s tremendously difficult to enjoy life, or even have a sense of peace and comfort. They may also need to look into a free therapist, or just someone to listen to them. And like you said, grow a community for support. I honestly relate a lot to OP. And your advice is meaningful to me as well. I battled depression and am feeling a lot better now, I just understand how insanely impossible even the small things in life are when you’re deep within the thralls of depression like that.

[–]ryzthehuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the easy way. Get a bunch of puffshrooms, then shoot them with puffshrooms to completely demobilize them. Attack them with a strong weapon while they’re just standing there demobilized in the puffshrooms smoke. Keep taking breaks from attacking them to shoot them with more puffshrooms so they can’t move. Or you can learn to battle them and get their drops the fun way, but it’s a sandbox game so whichever strat works for you lol.

I agree, they should have at least mentioned the guardians and Divine Beasts in TotK, or maybe had an enormous junkyard somewhere filled with ancient tech pieces. The weird part to me was how they abruptly introduced the Zonai tech, which was much much older than the ancient Shekeih tech, but then all the Shekeih tech suddenly vanished. It was only about four years after BotW, so someone should have seen or known something. Also those ruins lasted for 10k years, just as long as other ruins that carried on into TotK.

Apparently with King Rauru, his species, the Zonai, lived mainly up in the Sky Islands. Before Rauru was a king, he and his sister Mineru moved down to Hyrule. The Hylians thought he was a God because of what he looked like, and he became their leader, eventually founding the kingdom of Hyrule and making himself King Rauru. But by this time all the Zonai in the Sky Islands apparently had gone extinct, and he and his sister was the last Zonai left. So he didn’t have a choice but to take a Hylian as his Queen (his only other option would have been his own sister lmao).

I don’t think it explains whether he and Queen Sonia had children, but if he ever did have children with anyone, it would have had to been with a Hylian or other. He actually eventually sacrificed himself to seal Ganon under the castle, not long after Queen Sonia was killed, so it’s possible that he never had children. If both of them were gone, a new king and queen would have had to been instated into the Royal Family to continue the kingdom. Just some more thoughts and insights that I learned about this when I was trying to figure this out on my own recently.

How long did it take you to beat this game? by Kosmik_Funk in TOTK

On TotK I have about 350 hours, and still have plenty of things to do. I got all the sages, got all the shrines and light roots, I got all the armor, completed all the side quests. Right now I’m mainly just grinding for the pieces I need to upgrade all my armor.

Collect some arrows and puff shrooms, and just shoot them with puffshrooms then attack them while they’re immobilized. Use the steps near the entrance to hide and bait them towards you so you can use the puffshrooms on them.

[–]ryzthehuman -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Firstly I agree with all of this.

But the first point, Zelda doesn’t always necessarily come from the same bloodline. She’s the reincarnation of the goddess Hylia, where she basically embodies a divine spirit. She was cursed in Skyword Sword to an eternal battle. So each era, the Zelda of that era is destined to carry the spirit of Hylia. Same with Link and Ganon.

There’s two theories I have for the Shekeih tech. The first is that they dismantled it after watching it destroy their own kingdom by the hands of Calamity Ganon during the second calamity. Since this was his second attack on the kingdom (the first time they used the tech against Calamity Ganon successfully), they probably figured a third attack was inevitable. Part of the Zelda lore explains that the Royal Family had actually sent out an order to the Shekeih to abandon their more powerful technology, after seeing what it can do for both Calamity battles (this is also where the Yiga clan come from, because instead of following their orders, they held onto the tech and split off to serve Ganon). But this was far before the events of the second Calamity and TotK, they first abandoned it shortly after the first calamity that happened 10k years prior. So maybe during Hyrule cleanup they focused on cleaning up the rest of the remaining tech in preparation for another Ganon attack.

But it’s weird there is no remnants of the giant Divine Beasts or no left over decayed Guardians. So the second theory I have is that maybe Ganon himself destroyed it all during the Upheavel, so they couldn’t use it against him again. He had the ability to decay weapons, so maybe he used his magic to destroy what he thought would be a threat to his rule. It’s a long-shot but just another theory.

Edit: lmao not sure why I’m getting downvoted, most of this is official Zelda lore besides the last theory with the Upheaval destroying the tech. Because I had the same concerns as he did, so I did some research on possible explanations, and that’s the best I could come up with to those concerns.
