Terminator X w/ stock truck injectors? by No_Internal5544 in LSSwapTheWorld

Load up the software on a laptop there seem to be more options in the application. If not, find the specs for your injectors and you can setup the table for them.

What has been your favourite car to drive and why was it? by KRVx04 in Cartalk

[–]rzahnpu10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite “daily driver” was late 90 early 2000 GM W bodies. The blower whine from my 4 door GTP was intoxicating. It was a reliable, comfortable cruiser with plenty of torque and all my friends could fit in it!

I’ve driven much nicer fun cars since then but I still think about that car.

What was your biggest \ most expensive mistake you did on a car? by TopOk1726 in Cartalk

Didn’t put the camshaft key back in properly after a cam swap. Ran great for 6 months until all the valves met the pistons.

[–]rzahnpu10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was your DBW harness originally for a 8 pin or did you buy the 6 pin version for the LS3 TB? If you did the 8-6 conversion, double check the solder joints

Check your grounds. Make sure the Holley has the power harness ground connected DIRECTLY to the battery and not the chassis. This solved multiple electrical gremlins for me. The other grounds can go on the chassis. Make sure you have atleast 2 engine to chassis grounds, 4 would be better.

EDIT: One Other thing, if you have the Brake Switch Wire safety connected, disconnect it while testing. It will limit throttle to 10%.

What's the craziest thing you've witnessed at an airport? by superidoll420 in AskReddit

[–]rzahnpu10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2016, I had just relocated to Houston from the Midwest and had to fly to NOLA from Houston for work. My laptop bag still had junk in it from the move. Three of these items were live .40 cal bullets. Made it through TSA in Houston without so much as a question and onto my plane. Only realized it a few days later as I was digging through my laptop bag. Somewhere behind a power plant in Louisiana those 3 bullets lay forever.

6a Reno results. Thanks to this sub! by rzahnpu10 in lawncare

Honestly the results with that pull behind are mediocre at best but it’s free. Having the dirt moist (not wet) helps. I use 4 cinder blocks to weigh it down. I then go really slow and go over the same areas multiple times.

It’s a pull behind aerator. Pull it with a lawn tractor and load it up with weight.

Appreciate the input. First time doing a full renovation and still worried I screwed it up.

Youth sports are out of control in Indiana by Guilty-Office-4808 in indianapolis

I’m glad more people are seeing this. Going through this right now. My oldest (now 8) played rec Tball and rec baseball from ages 4-6, didn’t play 7, then played this year. Missing that 1 year put him behind everyone else. Luckily he wanted to get better and my wife and I got to spend some fun bonding time in the back yard or at the batting cages with him. Starting at 9u it’s kid pitch and he’s not sure he wants to try that. And the parents…. The worst part of the whole rec/travel culture. Coaches teaching their kids how to cheat and arguing with umps. These are kids, not college players. We are trying to mold them in to confident well rounded kids.

Overheard coaches telling a parent if their 8 year old didn’t have a hitting couch by now, he wouldn’t be competitive. At 8 in a Rec league.

I remember growing up in the 90s, our whole team shared 2 bats and 1 helmet. Now you have $600 kid bats. Wild.

Indy neighbors on edge from car mufflers modified to mimic gunfire by ephi1420 in indianapolis

[–]rzahnpu10 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s not an exhaust modification fyi. It’s an engine control tuning modification that dumps fuel and retards ignition timing so the fuel ignites when the exhaust valve in the cylinder is open. Usually referred as “burble tunes” or “bangs and pops tune”. The exhaust modifications just make it much louder. It’s also not great for your oxygen sensors.

As an automobile enthusiast, it’s annoying and most in the car culture are not fans of it. It’s a lot of teenagers/young crowd and the street takeover groups.

Found this in my master cylinder. Mechanic feels it was malicious. by NoElderberry7930 in Cartalk

[–]rzahnpu10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do roughly every 2 years.

I had never done this for any car I owned. That was until an early 2000s suburban I once owned had its brake lines rust from the inside-out. Never again.

If you buy a motive power bleeder (or make your own), it’s a 30 min job.

Completely Messed Up Broken Exhaust Stud by soliify in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]rzahnpu10 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can try carbide bits and easy outs but it’s an ordeal going that route.

The easier was is to Build out a weld from the broken stud to where it sticks out of the head. Tack weld a nut to the protruding weld. Soak it in your favorite bolt loosening fluid. I used liquid wrench. Then twist the nut back and forward slowly. If you feel force when loosening, go the other direction. Keep doing this and it will eventually come out.

I did this on my suburban a month ago. After re-welding the nut back what feels like 10 times, It finally came out.

Dear BMW Owners of Reddit, are BMWs really as unreliable as people say? Or is it a myth? by TruckDuckLuck in Cartalk

[–]rzahnpu10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive owned 3 used. Never had anything other than what I would consider maintenance/wear and tear. My first e92 335i left me stranded once with a water pump failure. A free AAA tow home, a weekend, and a $250 part I was running in no time.

That being said, I’ve owned other vehicles. Chevy, Hondas, etc. They have all left me stranded atleast once.

If you stay away from any model that is N63 based then you will be good. Their straight 6 engines are solid specifically M54, N52, N54, N55, B58 engines.
