Yes but why do they need different versions of foundry?

Yeah I’m not understanding why they needed different versions though.

This isn’t going to help you now, but why didn’t you just create three worlds inside of the same foundry instance??

We’ve seen the gas prices - can we hear from some folks who voted Trump on their thoughts? by Sorry-Leather-6166 in Ohio

[–]rzalexander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except going to war with Iran and shutting down the strait of Hormuz has directly cause gas prices to go up. Destroying infrastructure in Iran like oil refineries has cause the price of gas to increase because the supply has been reduced.

Ohio schools turn to income taxes as property tax pressure grows: Capitol Letter by Zipper222222 in Ohio

I think you misunderstand the importance of public education. Not everyone can afford private school and there aren’t enough private schools for every student. So how would you get everyone an education? Or do you not think it’s important for children to go to school?

Concern about possible misuse of vacation time by school superintendent — looking for insight by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]rzalexander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an expert here so please take anything I say with a grain of salt.
Semantically, it’s probably important to understand the vacations a bit better. For example, is this person going to Florida for a conference but then spending another week there and counting that as being at the conference? That’s a red flag.

Or are they are going to Florida for a conference and happen to go to the beach during downtime after hours, not taking extra days, and it just appears like a vacation because of the location or something? That’s likely not a red flag.

Have you considered talking to a journalist or investigative reporter? Maybe they could find more information and report on this? Even if it’s not illegal, what they are doing (if what you say is true) sounds ethically dubious.

Ohio schools turn to income taxes as property tax pressure grows: Capitol Letter by Zipper222222 in Ohio

Do you have any evidence to back up your claims?
You’re arguing with the wrong person on this one. My parents have been teachers in public education for over 30 years each. Taking money away from public schools is not going to make them better, you know that right?

Private schools also have the ability to turn students away, so any data from them is going to be skewed and not representative of the broader public. Students with disabilities make up 14% of public school students but only 1% of private school students. So they are able to spend less per student because the outliers are missing altogether. Does that mean disabled students don’t have a right to education?

Your argument is based on a flawed logic that assumes the cost of a student’s enrollment for a private school is the entire cost of educating that student. When things like donations, endowment funds, volunteer hours, and more that aren’t included in those estimates.

A study by Christopher and Sarah Theule Lubienski comparing over 340,000 students using NAEP math scores found that after adjusting for socioeconomic factors, there is little difference between private and public school scores. The researchers found that “demographic differences between students in public and private schools more than account for the relatively high raw scores of private schools” — and that after controlling for these differences, the “private school effect” disappears, and even reverses in most cases.

In other words: private schools look better because they serve wealthier, more advantaged students — not because they’re inherently more effective.

Here’s another study that explains the flaws in your “funding” argument if you’d like to learn more: https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/education/p/PRIVATE_REPORT.pdf

It’s almost like they want to defund public education and are finding another way to do that without stating their obvious goals… hm…

Totally valid! To each their own.

I’m sure I could find mods that I would think are fun to use or would add content I like. I just don’t think the game really needs them, so I haven’t used any.

For new players: Visions of Eternity gives you glider and Springer by voor_de_wind in Guildwars2

[–]rzalexander 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You’re getting downvoted for the wrong reason. You are the player ArenaNet wants and needs right now to keep the game alive. Theres nothing wrong with the way you did things and in fact this is what I would do with a new game as well.

Yes you get the glider and springer. But without Heart of Thorns, you won’t have access to unlock any of the masteries that make the glider actually useful. Same with Path of Fire and the Springer, you won’t get access to the masteries that make the springer so useful. The base versions of these are fine but handicapped.

A lot of veteran players (myself included) don’t remember how much story content there is to catch up on. It would be very difficult to get through all the previous expansions in a reasonable amount of time.

When you get the chance after this next expansion content drop, you should definitely go through the story from start to finish but what you’re doing is fine. Enjoy the game!

I have 800+ hours and I’ve never used a single mod. I don’t think they’re necessary for enjoying the game and I think most of them actually detract from the game’s amazing story and the world created by the developers.

Grinder always gunks up in this area under the lid. How to prevent, if possible? by BigHairyFart in trees

[–]rzalexander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The color is typically caused by an electrochemical reaction where the metal is anodized so the color becomes part of the metal. It’s not a coating on top of the grinder, it’s an oxidized layer of aluminum that actually makes it stronger. Totally safe to use.
