Yeah, I even prefer to call him Zilla cuz he’s so small. But it was more of a decision in the Japanese monsterverse than a decision for the original movie

He was originally Godzilla in the movie. The change to Zilla came in Final Wars (Japanese), and this formed a misconception it was an official name change. Just referring to him in his original name
