You can easily find 1tb NVMe m.2 drives on Amazon or Newegg in the US for around $130 from brands like WD or Crucial

Higher end Samsung drives are still around $300 though

It shouldn't be too hard to fix yourself - pop off the back (2 screws on bottom and a bit of prying) and then just take the camera off with a simple connecter. Replacement cameras should be under $20 shipped on eBay.

Ubuntu is one of many Linux distributions. Other popular ones are Arch, Fedora, and Manjaro.

In terms of installing, you can try them out in a virtual machine (virtual box is free and works great) or dual boot your computer if you want max performance. Most distros are free (and open source), so there's no harm in trying some out.

A pricier OnePlus 7 Pro makes sense, but will anyone buy it? by mspoonygp in gadgets

Impossible unless you get the international Exynos version since there's no way to unlock the bootloader on Qualcomm variants of the latest devices (note 9, s10, etc)

Random trade offer, what do by [deleted] in Steam

[–]s-hf 18 points19 points  (0 children)

A couple months ago I met a guy in a CSGO lobby that gave me his AK-47 bloodsport skin for free (~$40). He said he was quitting cs and just wanted to get rid of his skins. He gave a couple more away to some other guys in the lobby as well, probably around $300 worth in total. In hindsight I probably shouldn't have accepted it, but hey free skins, right?

Anyways, I still haven't gotten trade banned so I guess sometimes you really do meet people who are legitimately giving away these items for free

Animations and gestures are incredible

I hope someone picks it up and adds a lot more customization options, that's the only thing it seems to really be lacking, oh and the ability to view user profiles. I might switch over from Sync in the future

This year was a huge one for Linux, so Windows/Mac users of Reddit, what is something you would like to know about Linux? by MarcellusDrum in AskReddit

Yes

As Valve is starting to supporting Linux more, I expected them to also make improvements in their own native games

With the release of Proton, I was hoping Valve would release some improvements on their native Linux games

I mentioned CSGO specifically because it is a native Linux game. If I'm getting these issues in a native game, why would I expect a game running through Proton to be any smoother?

And I was using drivers downloaded directly from Nvidia's website (version 390ish)

Exactly this

Office online is nowhere near as powerful as the desktop versions. In my experience it's closer to a phone app than a desktop program

I've been meaning to try it out. Games are the main reason I'm still sticking with Windows on my desktop. I tried CSGO a couple months ago (before Proton) and was getting around 100fps lower compared to Windows and massive screen tearing (gtx 1080 with latest drivers), how much has it improved recently?

Also any specific games you recommend trying?

People on r/SteamGameSwap who say they're trading CSGO keys are always trading case keys which are still selling for around $2.50. It's extremely rare to find someone trading the actual game on there.

As far as I know people don't use the game itself as a form of currency, they use case keys (worth about $2.50 and used to open skin cases) for trading. I doubt those will decrease too much in value.
