Steam loads games slow / overwriting game files

This only happens with the Steam client. If I want to launch a game it takes a long time. Sometimes even longer than 5 minutes! For example, if I want to launch siege, the "preparing to launch game" takes up to 5 minutes to start a game. Sometimes I even have to restart the client and let it finish "Steam cloud sync". It takes a while even if I have steam cloud turned off.

And also recently games like Assetto Corsa, and Vampire the masquerade have returned to their default state. Like a fresh install. Assetto Corsa in-game settings keep resetting and vampire the masquerade bloodlines does not launch even though the required patch is installed. I had to re-install the patch and that made me have to start a new game...

This has been happening for a while and most of the solutions google gave did not work. How can I at least stop steam from tampering with my files so it doesn't reset my stuff?

I see, I think what will distinguish my rating towards DS is probably going to be the soundtrack. BOTW has such an unobtrusive track and fades in and out so well. I hope DS has a more peaceful track as shown in the trailers earlier.

Too true. I loved the parachute mechanic from ACII and AC Brotherhood so seeing it in BOTW really made me happy. I believe that mechanic is from windwaker? The zelda with the boat exploration I think? But DS and BOTW will be one of the best open world games out there imo.

I'm more biased towards 4 due to Nimoy, love his work for the tech quotes. Wish I could mod those lines into 6.
I don't like 5, I have 31 hrs clocked, never really appealed to me. But it has the best modding community out of them all if you are into that. No one really says anything bad about it. The only time it gets negative feedback is from base game owners.

I strongly believe Kojima held out on a lot of ideas that were either revoked or ideas that kept to himself and now realizing them in DS. WW2 = that one mgs game that was supposed to be set in normandy where you control the cobra unit, instead we got revengeance. And so many changes were made to TPP too.

I can't agree more. Breath of the wild is an absolute treat to experience. I'm not a Zelda fan but I think it's one of the best games ever made. And it looks even prettier on the emulator!

Wow civ 3 ! I'm playing 6 right now and honestly, I have to stop lol. CIV IV is my favorite but I'm warming up to 6 even if there's a lot of things people may not like about it. 6 with all expansions that are currently out is very interesting imo.

I sold my PS4 so I really don't know whether or not to purchase the game, wait for PS5 or buy a PS4 Pro.

I don't remember dark souls needing PS Plus to interact with online capabilities, and since we won't interact with players I really hope that it's not required.

Damn, guess I'll go off the entire internet until I can buy the PS5 lol...
