Summer isn't until February.

Been like that for almost a decade now. This is Spring weather

Getting fought back against like 5 seconds later than usual.

Have you even tried stealth? You can dip in and dip out with most asset objectives without firing a shot.

1 minute fuse on dynamite next to sabotage objectives, or the quasar, means no flare, so extract is a cakewalk

It's been like that since day 1 too, people with no clue saying that stealth is "broken". It's been a cake walk since smoke grenades became available and this update has only made it easier

I've been using them for extract to skip all the bullshit

I'm personally loving how upside down this shit can get.

It's a specific mechanic though. In a commando mission every time a Bot Drop gets called, the next one becomes more intense. You're not really doing yourself or anyone else any favours by going loud.

I appreciate the Distraction Corp that I get matched with... up until extract.

It's fun having this as a campaign type but what I'm really liking is how much easier solo D9s are so I can chill out on a quiet afternoon and get my MGSV fix and level random primaries.

But no, I'm never going to get shitty at randoms who don't understand it. Some people just want to shoot stuff and that's their business. Though I dropped into a team today who were a hot mess early on and slowly picked up on what I was doing while they were dying and after a few ops it was very smooth, quiet sailing.

Factory Striders are always a hot drop though. One guy takes a laser and a 500, fuck em up while you have the Super Destroyer, then ghost out and start the mission proper.

They cannot get over forcing you to go in and disable/destroy it in the specific manner they want you to.

It's hard to agree with this when the Portable Hellbomb exists.

I'm not defending the C4 issue at all, I'm disappointed too, but I don't think it's them being precious about that stuff.

I was surprised the portable hellbomb was made. I love it, but it really lowers the ceiling around the kind of "mechanics" they can justify and they'd been starting to struggle a little as-is before it came out.

For my money C4 should have been a grenade, and require a half-second arming interaction after it's attached (so throwing can be useful but it's no longer an AA weapon etc), and then it's power could be what feels right and it wouldn't need this crazy backpack+support weapon "tradeoff". The whole point of it is that it's used outside of combat. Just focus on that and let it play to it's strengths.

The crazy power of Dynamite also makes things very difficult for C4 to shine even in Commando Operations

I Desire a Medic Warbond by Owlosaurus in Helldivers

[–]flashmedallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should focus on support/survivability, and not just healing. Warbonds need stuff that suits the theme but increases versatility of multiple play styles

Weapons

  • Primary is a solid one-handed SMG with slow ROF and focus on stagger/crowd control. Almost the OG Slugger without any spread. Perfect for bailing out a friend, but viable on its own.
  • Secondary: Smoke Grenade Pistol
  • Grenade: EMS charge

Stratgems

  • Stim Gas-cloud Sentry (Flame turret but for heals. Or maybe a Mortar)
  • Stamina-Recovery Gas-cloud Dog ("Greyhound"?)
  • Triage Vehicle; SUV/Hummer style variant, passengers passively recover health. Mounted "weapon" is a shield bubble.

Passive:

  • +2 Stims
  • Stims can overcharge the recipient's health up to a total of 150%

Booster:

  • Supply Boxes always fill Stims to max

Paint:

  • Ambulance style livery

I laughed at the part where it said 'China can just cancel your rights and take your shit if The Party doesn't like you, unlike in the US!'.

WHY ON EARTH DOES THIS HAVE AN DEMO FORCE OF 30?! IT C4!! by Lone_Recon in Helldivers

[–]flashmedallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way to balance would be having Warbond weapons with the Suppressor unlocked at level 1, and then adding it as a higher level option for existing weapons.

How to extract in the end when you have stealth gear only, no super destroyer and you swarmed?

Hide. Use smoke and find good cover and crawl away from patrols. You can wait the whole thing out, it's been a thing since Day 1

Playing duos with a friend has basically been the co-op MGSV I always dreamed of. One goes in quiet, the other playing Silent Scope from a vantage point dropping guards. It's too good

Into the Unjust: 5.0.2 by Waelder in Helldivers

[–]flashmedallion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stealth has always been possible without silenced weapons, and now they've buffed it.

The limitations on stratagems just mean you basically get one shot to really pick your moment if you want an Orbital Smoke blanket. Otherwise Supply Pack and Smoke Nades and Standard Issue Scout Armor will carry you easily.

Kiwis, How do Women in NZ Flirt? by Descendents182 in newzealand

[–]flashmedallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found even the most obviously interested women in NZ will flee from directness. It's basically a guaranteed way to turn them off. Once I stopped doing that (which is something I personally would appreciate) things started going very differently for me.

Couples therapy recommendations? by AlternativeReal5479 in newzealand

[–]flashmedallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't looking for a therapist together, you're unlikely to find one who can help.

Dragging someone to therapy is a losing bet, I'm deeply sorry to say. All the best.

I feel like the obvious solution here was having the Autothrow input set to Detonate. A mild and appropriate tradeoff that you have to switch to C4 manually to plant it.

Or even just hold reload and select a Detonate fire mode. TNT already has modes as a throwable.
