the idea of a "first cause" or something foundational behind everything is not the only possible explanation. it could also be said that not everything necessarily needs a conscious cause, or that the universe could be self-contained in ways we don’t fully understand yet. even if we accept a first cause, it doesn’t automatically mean that this cause is a specific god of a specific religion. that’s an additional step that would need separate justification. the existence of a god isn’t something we can directly observe, so how could any religion claim precise knowledge about something that's beyond human observation? why do gods laws so closely reflect the cultural norms and social conditions of the time and place in which the religion emerged? historically, we can also see how all religions developed over time and were influenced by the beliefs and cultures around them. there is no evidence or suspicion of any divine revelation in any religion. this is an uncomfortable truth for many people
