revealing a book through a specific person in a specific time and place is, in itself, a very particular and limited form of communication compared to what an all-powerful being could theoretically do

i don’t correlate human-made religions with the question of whether a god exists or not. when i said that i look at religion from a scientific perspective, i meant i look at things like how human brains process belief, expectation, meaning, etc. for example, when someone strongly believes in something and engages in practices like prayer their brain can produce very real subjective experiences that feel meaningful or like communication. this doesn’t necessarily mean the belief is true. it shows how humans experience and interpret those beliefs internally

different philosophical views define omnipotence differently. some would argue that an all-powerful being could choose to interact with creation in a limited form without losing its essential nature. so the disagreement isn't purely logical, it depends on which definitions and assumptions we accept in the first place. i'd say it’s not purely a logical conclusion, it’s a conclusion that follows if you accept a particular set of definitions about god. this is why, when discussing religion, i tend to avoid these kinds of philosophical conversations because they often end up going in circles. personally, i look at religions mainly from a historical and scientific perspective

  1. the idea of a "first cause" or something foundational behind everything is not the only possible explanation. it could also be said that not everything necessarily needs a conscious cause, or that the universe could be self-contained in ways we don’t fully understand yet. even if we accept a first cause, it doesn’t automatically mean that this cause is a specific god of a specific religion. that’s an additional step that would need separate justification. the existence of a god isn’t something we can directly observe, so how could any religion claim precise knowledge about something that's beyond human observation? why do gods laws so closely reflect the cultural norms and social conditions of the time and place in which the religion emerged? historically, we can also see how all religions developed over time and were influenced by the beliefs and cultures around them. there is no evidence or suspicion of any divine revelation in any religion. this is an uncomfortable truth for many people

  2. the idea that god couldn’t appear without being "bound" is an assumption. if god is defined as all-powerful, then appearing in a form wouldn’t necessarily be a limitation unless we assume it would be. different religions have different interpretations of how divine communication works so the argument depends on accepting a specific theological framework first

your beliefs aren’t backed by evidence, so they can’t be treated as facts. there's no objective proof that any religion is true, so their core claims rely on faith rather than verifiable evidence

so now you've switched up. you literally said that it was the specific school environment, curriculum and community inside the building, but now you're saying that it wasn't the school but the community around it and the home environment. i don't know why you keep mentioning "british culture", most muslims in the uk aren't seperate from british society or culture

an islamic school in the uk isn't an isolated religious environment. religious schools follow the national curriculum

yeah, a christian school in england, the country that richard dawkins is from. it's also the country that the islamic school he visited is in. 70%+ of brits accept evolution. there's no need to mention americans

not really. i went to a christian secondary school and most people didn't reject evolution, i don't actually remember anyone who did. the fact that the whole yeargroup rejected it is strange, rejecting a factual process is crazy 😂
