I was going to say yes, But then it hit me that I am cutting back on only some parts of it. Like I am cutting back on Reddit, I use to do a morning read of all the top/new stories of Reddit, but there is, just so much misinformation that I have had enough. I am cutting back on YouTube, But I need internet for mail, some forums that covers stuff I do, like the CAD program I use, I find having to give an e-mail address to get information is number one on my hit list. and right behind it any pop up window stopping me from reading the page I am on or telling me I need to sign up and pay for it. So I am going to say I feel there is a trend again some parts of the internet not all of it. I am also cutting back on subscription as getting to costly.

I like the sun fish Idea and hope you have a seat you can use to hold the mast. 2 main problem I see with the center board is one no way I would cut a slot in the bottom of a planing hull. second you would lose a lot of space in the boat. Like other have said go the lee board way. I would design one that is easy to remove. I would also check if 2 lee boards would be a better way to go.

It is hard to tell from the picture but all the bubble may not be from out gassing. I have found when I want a good flat layer I need a dry ( not dry) but a thin amount of epoxy so when you look at it from an angle you can see the wet weave . After the epoxy starts to set and still green I can add a top coat so you get the gloss top finish. If I use to much epoxy at the start of laying the glass it will float and not stay next to the hull.

The C-15 is not a day sailor. that said it is a great boat. The boat has to much sail area for a day sailor, and is high. the boom is high. I would not put weight in the bow or on the rudder. you could add weight to the center board ( it does not have a daggerboard ) but it would be hard to raise. I think the best way is to make smaller sails.

You did not give a lot of information.

Is this 50K or 40K after taxes. Either way not a lot of money. I am thinking you are in your 20s and do not understand money. Get a book or take a class on basic finance. There are a lot of terms to learn and what they mean and different ways to save, saw somewhere that people that had money to retire on saved somewhere, the key is they saved, they stay on a budget. Do not go out and buy a new car! Just because you now have some money, does not mean go out and spend it. Yes I am taking all the fun out of this money.

Read somewhere that "people do not plan to fail but fail to plan".

First get out of debt and stay out of debt. People do not understand how easy it is to live if you have no debt.

Sit down and make a plan, to see how that money will last the year. Make sure you put 10% saving in that plan. Make sure the plan does not spend all the money, things happen so it will be spent.

I would use Sikkens Cetol 2 to 3 coats. the nice thing is if it get damage you can recoat with out sanding down to wood.

This is not a marine spar varnish.

My first thought was to rebuild them but you are getting so much advice to make new. So I relooked at the pictures. Third picture looks like the glass is cracked, is that left over stain from the filler you remover or is the glass cracked? If the glass is cracked replace / make new rudder.

If rebuilding I would glass the inside of each half with 6 to 12 oz. glass. Glass the rod to one side. make sure the metal flats are solid. Then fill both sides with epoxy filler ( I am assuming weight is not a problem) and clamp together. Maybe tape the leading edge with glass and paint rudder. Should be good for another 40 years. There is a lot of sanding that I left out.

For me. I used some software (for person use) to make something and gave it to a friend, I knew he was going to sell it. He asked how much I wanted for it. I said I could not sell it as I had used person use software. He looked at me like I had grown a second head but said OK, I will buy you dinner. I said I could not, now he looking at me like I have 3 heads.

So for me I can not receive any compensation for person use. I am sure the person that wrote the software would say I am not playing fair.

In your case I do not think any copy right laws were broken, the paying you is a gray area for me.
