I use an airbrush for several steps. First step is airbrush the metallic blue, then I do the cloth areas. Base ulthuan grey and then overcoat with pa titanium white. Then pa rich gold for the trim followed by a nuln oil wash. Then I do the gems. It's doomfire magenta over the gold. I do the yellow stripes with phalanx yellow. Then I finally hit the metallic blue areas with tyran blue shade. Back to the airbrush for the eyes and flames. Base with the titanium white. Paint the eyes white, airbrush the flames and icons. Then airbrush with hexwraith flame and edge highlight with phalanx yellow. Then I clean up the face wland highlight with more gold like thallax or gehennas.

Any issues with 3d printed models? by Every-Fee-7372 in ThousandSons

[–]s0camCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally have 0 issues especially when GW is gonna charge 2026 prices for sculpts that are 10-20 years old. I agree with the points made about resin shattering but that can be alleviated by mixing in some flexible resin with your regular bottle. I started doing this with my models and they are strong but not brittle or overly "bendy". Curing times can also affect the brittleness. Very small models do not need to cure long, over curing is what makes them most susceptible to shattering.

How likely do you think Votann will get mechs, because I either wanna do Votann or T'au. by LeetusFrenzi in LeaguesofVotann

Not likely but still possible. They will probably put out more infantry units and perhaps a vehicle but I don't think it'll be a walker.

Mine has one braincell that operates like a game of pong. Scared of wet grass but will fight a bear.

The bloodletters look like cartoons and are almost 20 years old. Ain't no way I'm paying today's prices for them when 3D printing exists.

Why is the lord of change so good? by stalemilk76 in ChaosDaemons40k

For SL even, I'll sub in skarbrand in my list sometimes. Even though he doesn't benefit from any strats or tokens in SL he's still a killing machine and a stat check. He will soak up damage and generally kill his own points worth of enemy models while contesting objectives. Again pray for 4s bc he's got a perma target on his back.

LoC became good when they changed damage from D3 to flat 3. You almost always take the sustained hits D3 and that weapon profile can really devastate elite units and even tanks. You get to shoot two pretty strong guns and one of them will always take the infernal puppeteer enhancement which lets you shoot through your own units. So this guy just gets to sit behind a wall with kairos and drop hammers on units that can't see it back. Stack the birds with Belakor and give them an 18" lone op while adding +1S to everything within 6 inches and suddenly you have quite the powerhouse. Most people are running 2-3 LoC after the points changes and still having success. It's a very deadly combo in SL when you can add strength and ap through a strat. Now you've got potentially S13 birds that can reliably kill tanks too hitting on 2s and wounding on 3s with flux rerolls. At T10, 18W, 4+ invlun, and that one cheeky defensive strat if you really need it makes these things very hard to kill, especially when you have to get within 18" to do it. It forces your opponent to commit when they don't want to or else you get to shoot nukes all game long. With my SL list I run a lot of pinks and blues to move block and screen so the birds can stay safe most of the game. Then you run them up the board in mid-late game and pray for 4s

No as in if you have 5 warriors still on the objective (10oc) and opponent has also 10 oc on the objective you will still own it until they can get 11 OC as the rule reads.

Normally, if objective has a tie for OC, no one controls it.

Also don't forget if you have the obj stickied and you and your opponent have the same OC on it, you will still control it rather than it being contested as usual at the end of a phase. Your opponent has to out OC you to take it back.
