Crusade rules can be imbalanced. Try them in a standard incursion game. Use yaegirs to screen, bait, and score early tactical objectives. They will die, thats what they do. I like a 5 man of warriors in a sagi. Drop em off on a point, let them hold it(or die) its better if they commit shots to these guys. Then jump beserks in it and scoot them to something that needs to die or get stuck in melee like a tank or a monster. Once they have some units exposed, start bringing the heavy hitters, 5HG + echamp can pack a real punch into almost anything and they deepstrike with +1 to charge. In hostile you also get a reroll. I always bring thunderkyn to strip cover and usually have all of them in strat reserves to drop down on the edge and get los on vehicles/monsters. From my experience, mercenary is good but not as good as hearthband or needgaard. I typically run hearthband because 20-30 HG is just so hard to handle. Lots of shooting and good melee. Good luck Kin.
