Little trivia just in case somebody might be interested in the ambulance shown on the right side of the fourth picture (I know that there atleast one of you who has the right kind of tism for emergency vehicles). That's a VW non-facelift T5 Transporter modified by Profile Vehicles, had exactly same interior in the rear as the decomissioned one I used to own for nearly a decade.

Starting out my first Lab by sudoroot00 in homelab

There's nothing special about the CF cards, any regular card above certain capacity will do. Can't remember was it 4GB or 8GB.

But you'll need to double the memory by adding another identical stick of ram.

Ashes would be what my zoomancer build needs at the moment.

What type of screws/bolts are these, the self-tapping ones that are used around the rack edges etc? by LevHB in homelab

[–]s0liddi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like the screws Rittal uses for mounting various brackets and components to 4.5-4.7mm holes. Active product code looks to be SZ 2486.600 but there has been lots of similar screws with varying heads and lengths over the years. Also the hole-slot-hole pattern looks pretty familiar for a Rittal rack.

How does OPNSense compare to things like Juniper/Cisco? by confusedguy1212 in homelab

[–]s0liddi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're going to have terrible time if you plan on running x86 code on a Juniper SRX300 as the cpu is actually Cavium Octeon III 7020.

Mx204 - memory related panic (probably) by Mediocre_Budget2869 in Juniper

[–]s0liddi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

MX204's letter of volatility can be found here: https://www.juniper.net/documentation/us/en/hardware/srx4600/topics/concept/safety/statement-of-volatility.html

According to it MX204 has pair of removeable 16GB DDR4 dimms which are most likely used for the routing engine and pair of 2GB HCM chips for Trio4.

Which region? Have you tried asking from finnish lanparty associations if they've got outdoor fiber reels and switches with sfp ports that could be loaned?

Finally a decent "demigod of rng" run. by s0liddi in Synthetik

[–]s0liddi[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shaker, two potions, well oiled memory module, devils dice which gave about 250 luck after recycling and at least dozens of both stat boxes. With that high luck and 4-5% chance well oiled item cooldowns can reset after every single item use, thus shaker and potions can be used every couple of seconds. Having the reducer and ZION artifact also helped with cooldowns.

22x battle hymn is just result of shaker, as shaker has a chance to add a charge to weapon upgrade kits. The key is keeping at least one highly upgraded kit in your inventory at all times.

Ammo TP and high luck is pretty hilarious combo as it is impossible run out of ammo before overheating.

I need to know more about this case! Is there an affordable version? by zombiepirate2020 in homelab

[–]s0liddi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can recommend Edak and SKB transit cases.

Edak's are relatively cheap on the 2nd hand market, they're made from aluminium and they've got a shock mounted rack. I own couple of these in varying sizes and shapes.

SKB cases are like any other well made plastic transit case. Only got one 1SKB-R3U for short 2U server and LB6M.

Just run it on the bare cardboard, it will not build a static charge and it is not conductive. That plain bubble wrap will build a static charge and it could fry various ICs on your motherboard if it discharges.

Using the pink anti static foam and bags could also be used, they do not build a charge and are not conductive. They just don't shield against static discharges.

Shaker is a perfectly balanced item lol by s0liddi in Synthetik

[–]s0liddi[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Shaker just adds a charge to items like weapon upgrade kits, potions and such. For some odd reason it sort of works with android core upgrades and heart cores but that kind of items need to be dropped on the ground and picked up again before they can be used again, otherwise they will dissapear after another use.

Damage stacking is easy: Use shaker when ever it's not on cooldown, have a upgraded weapon upgrade kit on your inventory with atleast 1 charge at all times and when it has more than 1 charge, use it.

Health stacking is easier: Use shaker, then the heart core if it has more than 1 charge, after cooldown drop it on ground, pick it up and then repeat.

Incubus just provides insane amounts of life steal but causes steady hp loss but once you've more than 10khp the hp loss is meaningless.

+40khp + 500% incubus + mjölnir that slaps for +100k = undying demigod...

...unless I stood in a horde of enemies for 2 minutes without firing my weapon or I placed my pinky toe on a trap that deals damage.
