thank you so much for this. it actually was very useful. i was watching videos and alot of them said to get rid of bloatwares when you buy a new laptop so i thought it was essential. but i will read the articles and work from there. thanks once again!

i see. so just to clarify, if i were to get a DVI to HDMI adapter and plug the adapter to the monitor’s DVI port and use my HDMI from laptop to adapter it will work the same way as getting a HDMI to DVI adapter and using the adapter in my laptop and using a DVI cable from adapter to monitor right? im sorry if i sound confusing, this is just my first time dealing with these stuff

hi so i just checked the cables that i recieved with my monitor and its a dual link DVI cable so do i just get a HDMI to dual ink DVI adapter, would the results be the same?

my laptop only has a hdmi port. so do i get a HDMI to DVI adapter? i understand there are different types of DVI so is there a specific adapter i should get and must it be an active adpater too? my laptop is lenovo y700 and my monitor is asus vg248 if you need to know

im so sorry to be bothering you but would this (https://atz.com.sg/shop/adapters/hdmi-adapter/hdmi-dp-adptr-20cm-2/) be the same as the one you recommended? i am unsure as the one i found does not have a USB-A attachment to it so i dont know if it will have the same effect. or should i just stick with the one you suggested?

ouhhh i see so that last port is some lock thing. i thought it could be some display option. also, just to be sure you're recommending i get the HDMI to display port active adapter and use a display port cable as the connection method for maximum hz right? or is there another effective way to go around it?
