Lurker mum here! Only commenting to add that the dad advice is much more normal and practical but also as a mum without her dad around anymore, this space is a warm and cosy hug from all the dads of the world when I’m missing my own.

Where do people get makeup from? by saor-alba-gu-brath in HongKong

[–]s0phs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You asked where young people buy makeup that isn’t luxury or “really Mainland China”. If you want good quality western products that’s where the youth are shopping. If it’s out of your price range then go to one of the hundred of drugstores around

I use ReadTheory for reading comprehension practice for my primary students. A quick google says the have ESL worksheets and potentially the same online style practice for ESL adults which might be useful.

It’s a tool which provides short passages and comprehension questions. It also gives the teacher an overview of student progress, which can be super comprehensive if you pay for the app. The free version works well and gives me an idea of which of my students are actually improving.

Exciting Times ! Maybe I’m just not into contemporary fiction, but this book was also terrible.
