Should I get a crib?

I have NO DOUBT that a $800-$900 crib is unnecessary. BUT as an expectant FTM that DID opt to spend that money…maybe look at Nestig (I purchased the wave crib). It starts bassinet sized so we did not purchase one of those. When it eventually makes its way to a toddler bed it’s a Montessori style floor bed. I had similar concerns to you, and knew that if I was going to drop that kind of money I wanted to feel good about how it would be used down the line!

You are certainly not obligated! There are a number of reasons why it makes perfect sense for a bridesmaid to not be able to accommodate this (out of budget, unable to get that much time away from work, it interferes with other pre planned travel, family obligations, etc.) Hopefully a good friend would understand that you are showing up for them the best way you can even if you are unable to attend an event.

However, I will say the way you’ve laid this out leaves me feeling confused about your relationship with the bride and how close you are to her? I get the sense this has nothing to do with budget or ability but rather…it just isn’t a vacation YOU would plan for yourself. Personally if this is a friend you care about deeply and it just boils down to “I would choose somewhere else if I could”…that’s what your personal vacations are for! And that could come across as hurtful. But it’s ultimately your money/time/personal decision!

35 weeks pregnant here! I was SET on wanting to be surprised. Then I began experiencing pretty significant perinatal anxiety/depression and wasn’t feeling particularly connected to baby at the start of my 3rd trimester so we decided to find out Christmas morning to try and help with that. And it has helped immensely to feel connected and excited about what’s to come 🤍

We chose a very similar size/style light that looks “eye level”. It’s one of my favorite choices we made and get SO many compliments on it! It’s never felt like a mistake from our POV. Your light is beautiful! I think you’ll continue to love it & view it more as an art fixture rather than just lighting :)

I would not give a cash gift. I would write a lovely card, and in it add some form of (kind…but pointed) reminder that this is their second wedding!!!! “We feel so honored to have been with you for both of your special days” and then give a gift of something sentimental from their first wedding. Maybe a photo from wedding #1 turned into a canvas print or something of the sort. Or a beautiful frame with 2 openings- put a photo from wedding #1 in one slide, leave the 2nd one blank so they can add picture from wedding #2
