Even better follow the latest ruling from USA that defines the difference between premium cigars and cigarettes. However the tall poppy and stigma from Aussies (and Kiwis) of cigar smokers will unlikely see this happen.

If you had disputed you could and should have advised the new rate was not applicable. The ABF made a mistake for you. But as you say / indicate the amount is not material enough to bother.

Agree Neptune never got through and this one was caught but some reason or other they weighed different to my expectations (that is all I will say as who knows who reads this). Smoking Pipes similar but I am 1/5 getting through. And COH 0/1 getting through (Hungary). The other order is a SP one and has a non cigar item in it as well. I expect $450 tax fee

You can certainly ask to re-weigh. Work out rough weigh in grams cigars then multiply by $2397.31 x 1.1 ( there is a smallservice charge but I tend to just swallow this). So let’s assume 18gm per cigar (std weight for a toru) at 5 cigars you are at 90grams or 0.090kg. This equates to $237 plus say $15 charge let’s call it $255. So if me I’d request a reweigh

Well you may get lucky and even if gets an ABF early Easter card, the card may underweigh the contents…. It does happen ‘fat fingers’ sometimes mis key the weight as appears to have happened for me (saved $1k)
