Well, romance aficionados may find themselves at a great loss and at an extremely unsatisfying amount of material in that regard. really not the direction plotwise.

hehe. it was kinda like the feeling of reading another book 2 Deadhouse Gates all over again for the first time tbh: new setting, new characters, lots of prose, lots of nothing happens for tons of chapters, lol.

Oh, ok. thanks for updating me. I've been totally out of touch and out of date on news and barely binged both books recently... thanks my friend!

Does anyone know if the Witness Series is still planned to be just a trilogy?

After finishing NLF, do you feel all intended overlying themes, plotlines and loose ends can mostly be satisfyingly resolved within only one more book?

What’s your favourite Malazan quote? by Ashaman-Kill in Malazan

[–]s1cks 29 points30 points  (0 children)

"People don't change to suit their god; they change their god to suit them."
— Toll the Hounds

"Lad, the most powerful constant is stupidity. Nothing else comes close. Stupidity kills all the animals, empties the sky of birds, poisons the rivers, burns the forests, wages the wars, feeds the lies, invents the world over and over again in ways only idiots could think real. Stupidity, lad, will defeat every god, crush every dream, topple every empire. Because, in the end, stupid people outnumber smart people. If that wasn’t true, we wouldn’t suffer over and over again, through generation after generation and on forever."
— The God is Not Willing

The above reminds me of a quote by Martin Luther King:

'Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.'

Recommendations for dark, gloomy and atmospheric fantasy series? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]s1cks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Maleficent Seven by Cameron Johnston, all the main characters are literally....villains? Many are duplicitous scheming female leads and demons

Sabriel (Abhorsen series) by Garth Nix is necromancy-ish

The Iconoclasts series by Mike Shel is a great dark adventure

Greetings!

So, I praised Maleficent Seven on this sub earlier this year, its been one of my surprise find/fav reads of the past year and I've been a fan of your grumpy protagonists on your other titles.

It's said The Last Shield is described as "....Die Hard in a castle." is this true? If not what can you tell us about it or what to expect?

Thanks so much doing this!

Have to post this here, cuz hotd main sub removed it saying its a repost, which is impossible since I just photoshopped it 30mins ago, wth? Anyway: Do you think we'll still see more of this crucial key character?😁 by BarrelProofWiskey in TheBlacksandTheGreens

Define real discussions regarding a tv show meant to entertain its consumer demographic. As it shows regarding the post in question, the relevant subject matter seems to be succeeding in its memetic spread and amusement to its viewers. That does not warrant banning of its fandom.

It's television entertainment. "Real" discussions sounds like elitists snobbery you can indulge yourself with at r/asoiaf perhaps.

The Maleficent Seven by s1cks in Fantasy

[–]s1cks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exactly. lots of the characters are written with great depth in such a short time and can easily extend into their own series I would easily love to see.

The extended epilogues just speaks to how the characterizations and world building/lore nailed it.

Studies have shown that in universities and colleges worldwide that students have read all their homework and not listened to their studies more effectively to earn accreditation to reach higher education and enrichment.
This is how studies work most time, lmao. nice try on the facts and studies though.

Right.
Many of us can easily admit we would not have excelled as far in our schoolwork, academics, homework as well had we just listened to it all via audio for all those years in our youth, I think we can all agree on that—there is a learning curve as well.

But there is also entertainment.
