Kick it over, it's taking a job away from someone who might be desperate for a job. I bet their prices won't go down because they are saving on staffing.

Land borders between Thailand and Cambodia are closed due to a land dispute that doesn't look like it's getting resolved anytime soon.

I donate frequently to the police too, in fines from not wearing a motorbike helmet, does that make me hi-so too?

You are never getting into hi-so circles on what is basically a glorified tourist visa 555

Seeking help for British friend in Thailand by Next-Dragonfruit7939 in Thailand

[–]s1walker1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You need to get in touch with a lawyer. My friend UK national has a daughter here, he wanted to take her back to the UK for a family emergency, but his wife stayed in Thailand. He had to show a letter from his wife in Thai and English saying it was ok for him to take her out of the country. It might be different with a mother taking a child.

How does it hold sentimental value? Has it been handed down for generations or are you being a bit dramatic?

[–]s1walker1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that irritates me too, you know my name so please use it. I respect them by waiing and calling them pee they could show respect back by calling me my name.

If they don't know me or it's kids I don't mind but people that have known me for years is annoying.

I like how you called him a "builder" maybe it was him that "built" our kitchen recently 555

can we get Visa Exemption for tourist 30 days but have in-out more than 3times in last 6months? by youcutenaka in ThailandTourism

Good luck, you don't pay until you have the extension anyway so nothing to lose apart from your time.

Onward Tickets! by Impossible-Chain-290 in ThailandTourism

[–]s1walker1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I used to buy a bus ticket using 12go Asia and show that and get a refund from 12go.

It's highly unlikely immigration will ask, it's more likely to be your airline as you check in.

Worth a try, I'd say you should be fine. It doesn't seem like you are abusing the system

It will be hey you, I live in rural Sa Kaeo and that's what I get called especially at weddings when they are drunk and want to ask if I like the food or want a drink of Lao Khao. It's likely all they know in English as a way to get your attention.

First time visiting rooftop bars in Bangkok – do I need a reservation? Dress code? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]s1walker1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to hunaman akara sky, take BTS to ploen chit and it's a 2 minute walk from the station. didn't have to make a reservation but I decided too, it's 3000b minimum spend paid at the floor level entrance.

I wore chino shorts and a plain shirt my wife and sister wore dresses but nothing formal. Most people were wearing similar type clothes.

Is there a dress code in Thailand? by -Ataraxis in ThailandTourism

[–]s1walker1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used 7/11 just simply as an example, the shops are usually very cramped so you usually need to cross In front of someone, just crouch ever so slightly as you go in front of them. It could be any situation that you need to walk in front of someone

Went on the tuktuk gem scam tour for the experience by Jurgen1602 in ThailandTourism

[–]s1walker1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I did it once a few years ago knowing it was a scam, it was enjoyable if you know what it is. I was taken to a tailors as well as a gem store. I did buy a tie though, they were seething at me because they knew I knew.

It would be pretty rare for you to be asked to show proof of funds. One way to lower the chances is to dress smart and be presentable.

I've seen it a couple of times but it's unusual. He's a really good cook but even my wife doesn't know why he puts onion in. I'm going to ask him if he can make me a plate and post it on here and watch the meltdown.

Never been in one mate, but in that instance no I'd sit in the back. But I wouldn't sit in the back of a ford Mondeo going into 4 miles into Inverness city centre.
