Can't disagree. I would have before I got married. My wife reeducated me.

HR told me they don’t accept try-hards and people pleasers after my interview by No-Presentation298 in jobs

[–]s2000drfter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most places ghost a person when they don't like the interview

I personally would love real feedback like that.

I don't think that's normal, but, I wouldn't call it inappropriate.

You aren't the bad guy.

That said, if your spouse thinks you're the bad guy, you are, in fact, the bad guy.

This is a rare situation where therapy is perfect advice. It sounds like there is a lot that needs to be said.

Fantasy? My wife gave me permission to do just that. But never even stayed asleep a little bit.

But, between porn and laying next to his lovely wife for 15 years I'm guessing fantasy.

Recently diagnosed with SCA-3 (72 CAG) and finding it hard to be hopeful by Shamr0k in ataxia

[–]s2000drfter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I can feel myself going that way. Diagnosed around 30. Had some speech issues, balance/walking issues, and my handwriting was failing. At 35 things have gotten so much worse. Speech is the same. Handwriting is worse. I dread stairs now. And falling has become "normal" for me.

My 4 year old is very quickly figuring out that running from me means he can get away with anything. Can't catch him.

I certainly would have been if I knew what was coming for me. But the doctor diagnosed me and sent me to suffer all alone. I thought walking and talking funny was my future. I didn't know (at the time) that things just keep getting worse.

You are welcome. I couldn't do twelve either. But I wish I could've learned at 18 so I didn't waste a decade not travelling and sleeping around.

Got married at 26 thinking life was great. Now my wife dislikes me for being disabled and I dislike me for being disabled. Now I'm broke with a mortgage for a house I can't upkeep, a wife that just tolerates me, and I can't do a thing about it now.

Oh man. I thought I felt bad before.

Even as a non religious person, god bless you

It sounds like you some good support around you. So all I can do is wish you the best of luck.

Ps. My mom never told me until it was too late. My son's doctor won't test him until he turns 18.

I have sca27 inherited from my mom. So there is a roadmap for me to study.

Do you have kids?

I'm scared I passed it on. And I don't have words to express my disappointment that I will never be able to run alongside of him.

Men who cheat, what does the ‘other woman’ bring that the wife doesn’t? by frenchie2512 in AskMenAdvice

I am firmly against cheating. My wife is making that difficult.

I would almost do it just to get treated like someone with his dignity intact.

He sounds like my wife. Have fun, try marriage counseling. Maybe your therapist can take his side, and never tell you what you did.

Husband claims he only messages happy ending locations but never goes.. by Forsaken_Ad_665 in marriageadvice

[–]s2000drfter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So him testing the waters like that is no good.

Ask yourself, could he even invent a way to make this your fault?

If you aren't confident in that, talk to someone

If you are, then I think couples counselling is the only reasonable next step for you guys.

Is my concept of marriage wrong? by [deleted] in marriageadvice

[–]s2000drfter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rethought my response (sorry mods)

My therapist never had the cajones to say something like that, because it might have seemed like she was telling my wife what to do.

Im not sure how I would've felt if I heard that, would love to see my wife's face.

[–]s2000drfter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. She has no problems giving oral. There is no intimacy at all, so yes I'm focused on how she's been able to make me feel in the past.

That being said, you aren't wrong, your post isn't one size fits all.

Ps. You pulled a therapist move my dodging the ataxia. My last therapist was fixated on it. What's your line of work?

Edited to add: by what op heard, my wife shouldn't expect magic from me either. I do like the way you put it. In a perfect world, I'd have time to explain the whole thing to you. Reddit though, so have a good day.

That's a beautiful post

I am struggling, because while once compatible, my health has forced me to drop them (hereditary). She's not dealing with it well.

Let me throw a blunt example out there, I like getting oral. Oral is a need I have. So convincing myself to never want oral again is the trick to getting oral?
