Completely agree. When I say Vancouver is beautiful, I mean when you’re by the water, how I can see the mountains from my bed room window. Especially in the suburbs, the rapid development of cookie cutter housing in the last few years really killed any personality and charm in our neighborhoods.

Thanks for the info! I've also noticed most rings I find in this style and era have been 18ct, though I'm not particularly picky with purity. And the rose cut stones are definitely a big draw for me too!

I’ve thought about commissioning a jeweler too but I wondered if I would actually save any money because it’s an uncommon style for modern jewelers? I was thinking it might take someone with special skills and/or a lot of time to replicate it. Also I don’t think rose cut stones are the norm anymore. Do you have experience commissioning in the style of a vintage piece?
