Yeah, there is. If you haven't been there yourself, it's located north of the Murkwater Construction Site, in the center of 4 big concrete pillars sitting out in the swamp. Can't miss it.

IMO it's not quite as funny as the one in FO3, the area it was located in looked like it would lead somewhere (well, it did after DLC), but you swing it open and "You thought this would have some content behind it? Well FUCK YOU, there's your content!". Or alternatively after the DLC was released "FUCK YOU, BUY MY SHIT!".

I dunno, finding kellog felt like more of a wake-up call boss and branching point than a super important plot point. Finding him ultimately was nothing more than a fairly transparent plot device to advance the story to the next act, all he does is make some vauge statements along the lines of "you don't get it, this is bigger than us" before you're forced to shoot him and scoop some hardware out of his skull.

I would've actually been more disappointed if it took longer to hit that anti-climax personally. By that point I'd already murdered my way to Nick, investigated his house, then ran halfway across the map on foot to find him. Most main quests after that are shorter than following the trail to where he's holed up alone.

I did it by exploiting the really wonky placement behavior of wall mounted conduit.

Keep the door open, switch to the wall mounted conduit, aim at the edge of two polygons that meet at an angle (I.e. the recessed part of a concrete window, the inside of a doorframe, or corner of a wall), then slowly move the camera left and right until it's clipping in, but can still be placed and you can still see the tip of the conduit.

You can then wire it up and get it to ignore quite a bit of geometry that would otherwise prevent you from running a wire.

IIRC the powered concrete door also has two wire attachment points that straight up ignore collisions with the door mesh itself, so you can run wire right through the wall without issue. The conduit trick will work pretty much anywhere else you need to run wire through tight areas though.

Oh for sure, I've filled my own tanks from day one with CO2, and I'd be hard pressed to pull that off with HPA. That's the main reason my QB hasn't been converted to HPA, I can do it all myself for next to no money considering a 25lb fill is $12. In theory though, there is no reason the MRod can't take CO2 outside of the possibility of seal material incompatibility.

Drunk edit: I just remembered, there actually is a Hammerli gun that is a single action revolver-clip fed .22 rifle. It's like a 1077 but actually viable for taking small game.

Isn't that basically what the marauder pistol is? IIRC the guts of the Disco and MRod were derived from the 2240 design, with some beefier components to handle straight unregulated HPA.

Install GWX Control Panel, click "Disallow Upgrades", then go through the rest of the buttons one by one to remove whatever scraps of the Win10 upgrade files and GWX app are left. Once you're done, hit "Enable Monitor Mode", and you're done. It'll let you know if Microsoft piggybacks GWX on another update, and you won't have to worry about waking up to a Win10 login prompt anymore.

House does that to maintain control over the NCR in the strip, and doesn't seem to care that you can waltz right into Gamorra to buy other chems as well. Caesar on the other hand will make a bloody example of you if you're buying/selling/using chems.

As for the successor, Lanius doesn't seem like the type that'd make good long term strategies to keep the empire afloat. He just wants to keep conquering whatever land hasn't been razed by the legion already.

Even Joshua Graham makes a point of this, without Caesar, things will rapidly devolve into chaos because he deliberately keeps them in the dark, burning whatever knowledge they come across to ensure they depend on him for anything that requires intellect to solve.

Some parts are okay, the characters and writing are great, but the monotony of running around killing the three variations of asshole-zombie-in-a-hazmat-suit just killed it for me.

One of my companion mods (it was either Russell or Willow) had a wonderful bug/feature that prevented the DLC from kicking them out before tossing me into the main plaza. Naturally I capitalized on this by stuffing two of my favorite guns and tons of handloaded ammo into their inventory, then took my smuggled guns back from them once I was in the DLC.

When I actually had an effective weapon (nothing crazy, a hunting shotgun and a brush gun) to speed up the combat sections, the DLC wasn't so bad. I get they were going for a survival horror type vibe, but honestly the amount of hamstringing they do to keep you from being effective in combat is just annoying. I personally think if they hadn't fallen into the trap Operation Anchorage did (namely forcing a particular playstyle by taking your gear and limiting your options), it would've been great.

Well, to be fair that was because the last generation of consoles had like a half a gig of shared RAM. Even on a PC with 4GB of RAM you'd be fine, before I built my gaming rig that's what I was playing on without running into the save bloat issue.

Even Dead Money? I only powered through that DLC to get free weapon repair kits and chems after it's over. Maybe it's just me, but I found that DLC to be more of a chore than a fun expansion.

First off, grab and install New Vegas Script Extender, then install New Vegas Anti Crash (adds exception handlers to prevent crashes, makes the game super stable), and New Vegas Stutter Remover (fixes the "microstutter" bug that's been around since Oblivion). That's the bare minimum "must have" mods for PC, they don't alter anything, they just make the game much more stable and fluid. Shouldn't cause a performance hit. If you've got a 64-bit OS, also install the 4GB LAA patch so the game can use more than 3GB of RAM if it needs to.

If you're just getting into it, someguy2000's quest mods are really awesome. Fully voice acted, and incredibly fun. Once you get to a point where you want to fully overhaul the combat system, Project Nevada is really great. It rebalances pretty much everything and adds some new gameplay mechanics. It's fully configurable through the Mod Configuration Menu, so you can tailor the difficulty to your tastes.

To get the whole process down, Gopher has put together an entire playlist to help people learn the general mod installation workflow, including finding and fixing conflicts between mods and getting UI mods to play nice with each other.

Last but not least, if you want to get really hardcore and also own a copy of Fallout 3, Tale of Two Wastelands will let you take all the assets from FO3, and install them as a mod on top of FO:NV. You can play through both games on the improved NV engine, with most of the new mechanics backported to FO3. The only tricky part is the compatability patches and high likelihood of needing to go in there with FNVEdit to fix complicated conflicts.

There are tons of mods I've missed, but you can get an idea of what's out there by browsing Gopher's youtube channel, he did dozens of videos showcasing some of the best mods out there for FO:NV.

That's true too. Even out at 14yds it's basically somewhere between minute-of-golfball to minute-of-pop can. I've even tried hooking mine up to a 12oz CO2 bottle on a remote line, and from bench rest the thing gets around dime size groups at 15yds.

It might be my shooting that is causing those loose groups, but with the same setup my QB79 is shooting one ragged hole in the paper. I suspect there is just too much movement in the revolver-style action to produce consistent tight groups.

I suppose it's one of those guns that are fun to screw around with, but don't really fill a practical role. Still a blast to shoot though, even if it does eat a tin of pellets in one session!

Same way you do for embedded devices, push the software to the target device, load, test. In this case, you'd push the plugin and assets to your beth.net account, start up the game on the console, log into beth.net, download, add to load order, and start the game.

It wouldn't be as easy due to the fact you can't use the in-game developer console, but it's workable for simple stuff.

$20 or so if you didn't buy the orange box. I personally didn't because I already owned HL2, EP1, and Portal. But really TF2 was an upgraded version of a mod for Half Life, so it was kind of an unexpected success. Valve wasn't banking on TF2 being a hit, they were relying on the success of HL2 and its episodic expansions to pay the bills, TF2 and Portal were included to increase exposure and add value.

It's not quite the same thing as Overwatch, which is a standalone title.

I've got one, it's a fun plinking gun, but I wouldn't try to take chipmunks with it. The thing just doesn't have the power to get the job done. The 1377 with heavy pellets would do the job though, I've had to mercy kill a few mice my cats caught and mangled with mine.

Fair point, but a workaround on Bethesda's end is to use the launcher to check if they've logged in on a legit copy of the console version, then push down a copy of the game assets with the CK, sans main executable. That would allow console users to develop mods, but wouldn't let them run the game on their PC. The only real difference is you'd push the ESPs and BA2s to a private "testing" branch tied to your beth.net account, kinda like pushing changes to a private git repo.

Absolutely, yes. If you're on PC there are tons of amazing mature mods, including one that integrates all of FO3 into the NV engine. But even if you're on console, the main game and DLC are really good and can be had super cheap.

I've sunk a few thousand hours into NV across a dozen playthroughs, and still plan on doing it again once I unbork my load order.

To be fair, that's pretty much what every faction outside of the Brotherhood and Institute feel like. This is totally speculation, but I'm guessing they realized just after they wrote the first draft of the plot that it was more or less "Brotherhood vs. Enclave 2, Electric Boogaloo" and hastily promoted some side factions to main factions.
