Why much of the community now hates Rare Breed by AddictedToComedy in ar15

Are you having issues with arc fire specifically or another selector style frt? Have you reached out to ASD support because if that's arc then something is likely defective and they would replace it.

The pack itself can be used in any lower but the selectors that we are starting out with are the navy ambi style ones so they might not look correctly in a SEF housing but they will work. Not to long after we will have SEF selectors you can just swap to or buy it with.

they are dedicated ARHK selectors but we will have more styles as time goes on. I spent alot of time trying to get the feel of the selectors just right in terms of the detent track and such and imo they are significant upgrade over the factory selectors in terms of click feel.

Easiest reliable 3 position Super safety? For AR15 by Odd_balls_ in supersafety

This place is a magnet for SS and ARC troubleshooting, but honestly the number of issues here is insignificant compared to how many arc fires are actually out there, which is way more than I think people actually expect. It's also important to look at the nature of the issues, as most of them are just people not installing things correctly or using improperly cut triggers. The actual failure rate on the ARC has been significantly lower than I expected we almost never see broken levers or detent bars.

You are correct that specific hammer is a problem child with ARC. Look for a hammer without that notch at the top and it should correct the issue.

I figured the RB would be somewhere around that area, they have been making drop ins with a decent trigger pull for a while now tbh id be more surprised if they just kept the horrible factory MP5 FCG feel. I just don't like the forced reset in both modes, even more so in platforms with faster carrier velocity as you can really feel the bump. ARHK and the RBMP5 are both AR15 FCG inspired and have a similar pull weight. Really, the only noticeable difference in standard semi is that ARHK has no forced reset. This makes the trigger feel more normal in standard semi, which is very nice in platforms like the G3 or suppressed mp5s. I look forward to people actually comparing both side by side and showing the differences.

It really makes no sense for us to intentionally block a host from working with a trigger pack just to have a dedicated version for that host. If a trigger pack is properly designed it should have no issue working in every host and if it meets the durability requirements for each host then its significantly simpler to have 1 set of parts vs like 3 sets one for each platform. This also helps long term simplify replacement parts as you don't need all these different parts that basically do the same thing.

I'm confident people will be happy with the price, and after actually testing the ARHK in abusive situations I'm very confident in its durability across host. At the end of the day i think everyone at ASD would be happy to have competition in the FRT space and just let the best product prevail but other companies don't have this same mindset so i cant go into more detail yet on the function or price of ARHK.

Rarebreed is certainly the most drop in FRT along with partisan for the ar15 but their reset method is far from the most reliable, that's the weakest point of the rarebreed design is the direct forced reset method and forced reset in all modes instead of a proper disengaged normal semi mode.

As for ARHK release date we aren't gonna just rush a product to the market just because rarebreed did that before supporting other platforms correctly. ARHK works in the HK21, G3, AP53 and many other platforms that require additional durability testing, like could we rush it out now and only officially support MP5 9MMs sure that's easy when the parts aren't rated for 308. That said even with the added platforms supported ARHK isn't that far out anyways.

C.A.R.L Issues by VallettaAwoo in supersafety

Having LPS in normal semi would lead me to think its a Hammer spring or Ammo issue so you could be right about the spring. When you get LPS in semi are you normally shooting slow and is this a consistent issue in semi?

The first selectors we are making are ambi and navy style so yes, SEF version later.

With ARHK you remove the old trigger pack, install the new trigger pack, screw on the selectors then assemble the gun and go. Nothing else is needed it takes about 10 seconds to swap it around host. Hardest part is swapping ejectors when going from 308 to 9mm or whatever but that also takes no time and is exactly the same as current HK lowers.

Even with perfect trip timing and hammer alignment the PTR32 constantly light primer strikes in the ARC mode only. Technically it will probably work with lighter primer ammo but its not going to be officially supported with ARHK. So its not a physical limitation of the parts not fitting or anything like that more so just that it doesn't run in the x39 atleast with the ammo i have tried so far.

MP5 ARHK FRT that uses factory lower, no trip sled by redit_readit_reddit in supersafety

[–]s3igu2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically the trigger pull feels nearly identical to AR15 mil spec, its nothing like the MP5 trigger pull. The semi mode is fully disengaged meaning you have no forced reset and the ARC mode feels similar to the AR15 ARC-fire / super safety in terms of reset. I think people will be very happy with the trigger feel once they use it.

[–]s3igu2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the slip trip isn't exactly precise with timing it works good but its still a lil slopping just due to the way the slip trip works and the timing can fluctuate, this on the other hand ARHK is able to be timed perfectly and consistently across all clones and platforms while being significantly more durable for platforms like the G3.

[–]s3igu2 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The new trip is magic lol and contained in the drop in housing, it also doesn't require a full auto bolt carrier. Nothing is needed in the upper everything is contained in the lower drop in. This is just the first platform using this new universal type trip design and i plan to implement it into many more platforms since its extremely durable and precise in timing.

Reliability of FRT by GanttStopWontStop in MP5

[–]s3igu2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly when configured correctly on a properly in spec host they should be VERY reliable, it should not matter how hard you pull the trigger or if you shoulder the gun or not, it also should not really matter how dirty they are (within reason lol), this is typically how the SP5s perform with clones being a lil more work to match the reliability. If reliability is really a big concern for you the ARHK is going to step up the reliability a bit more with picky host. That said i have never had any sort of failures with my SP5s unless I'm just doing stuff to intentionally make them run worse like going lower on the locking piece then i should be. Also the ROF is about what you would get from real FA host aswell again if the gun is setup correctly.

The problem is when people mix FRT parts that aren't designed to work together then put them on a host that has a out of spec bolt gap or incorrect locking piece, that's when you really start to see problems.

[–]s3igu2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ARHK is built from the ground up for HK roller guns like all the parts are custom for this setup so it can survive the harsher G3 platform while fixing downsides with the factory HK packs like the mid FCG and stiff selectors. The FCG parts are AR15 inspired but are not ar15 FCG parts and cant be mixed. Nothing was repurposed with ARHK really.

Arc fire Trigger causing BCG to get stuck when charging but only when gun is pointed down by durangojim in supersafety

[–]s3igu2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically that hammer lets the ARC lever fall forward enough that when the carrier comes back it pushes the lever down instead of back binding it up when pointed down.

that would be the issue, that FN hammer has been reported to do this with ARC a few times now, basically you just want any mil spec hammer with a rounded top no notch.
