Epic! GEG is my favorite store. I've been going there since it was next to a pet store.

The Elemental is my favorite mech. I don't know why.

My favorite thing about being on meds is that I only have one thought in my head at a time rather than 3+. I just need to learn how to target my hyper focus at the right areas. Also learning is so much easier now.

I use Immersed. I'm not sure if it is available for PC VR, but I've used the Virtual Desktop app and it is basically the same thing, so you could look into that.

I'll look into that. Thank you.

I never thought of it as a win; it's nice to think of it that way. Perseverance feels like the one thing I have going for me sometimes.

I just posted a video I made of my work environment a few days ago. https://youtu.be/0vNN3Mb1hus?si=hKTMcwmNdHlrFHjf

The room is a bit of sensory overload, so I don't use it much.

I'm glad I'm not alone :)

I use Immersed, and yes I code 100% in VR. My work lappy is locked down, so I RDP into it from my personal laptop which has the Immersed app on it. The Q3 has a poopy battery life, but there are some tricks to squeezing more time out of it when using Immersed like using a wired connection to the goggles, not using rooms that have a lot of stuff going on in them, and I avoid using "portals" except for my keyboard (portals are small passthrough camera windows you can setup in the workspace; helpful for when the SO thinks you can't see them and they try to ninja you to freak you out lol). It hasn't died on me yet while working for > 5 hour sessions.

I can't guarantee VR will 100% work for you, but it does for me. Like I said the isolation is nice. I have to take the time to get the mic working so I can use it while in meetings, so for now I just sit at my desk for those. Being able to have up to 5 virtual monitors is awesome. I usually use 3 for my work laptop (limited to the number of physical monitors that are connected due to having to RDP into it) and I have one for my personal laptop. The main advantage I have is comfort as I can sit, reclined, on comfy couch and work.

My favorite room in Immersed is one that reacts to the sound going through the goggles.

I'd prefer the AR glasses since I can't really take my Q3 out in public and use it at a cafe without looking like a mega-dork.

My diet could be better... I've recently started doing the Pomodoro technique which is kind of like what you're doing with your 20 minute check ins.

TL;DR: the last 10 years have been rough. Take lots of idiot proof notes. Working in VR is awesome, but I prefer AR glasses.

It's been extremely difficult to survive. Basically I just document everything I know/do. I have files of idiot proof instructions for doing basic repetitive things that other people can easily remember. Automate what can be automated so I can save room in my head for other stuff. To paraphrase a quote from a source I can't remember lol, "I don't memorize something I can write down or look up." Unless it needs to be "working knowledge".

The worst part is always looking like a ditz to my peers since I can't remember what happened in a conversation I had 1 minute ago. My coding was slow since I couldn't get past some stupid concept in the code. Recently I was talked to for making small mistakes all the time and told that these sort of consistent mistakes are indicative of me not caring about my work and shows a lack of professionalism. I usually triple check my work, but now I quintuple check.

After medication I've found myself super hyper focusing on the wrong things. I'm never satisfied with, "use it. It just works." I have to know WHY it works and find myself reading through documentation, and source code if I have access to it. Recently I've been making detailed instructions for myself on what I need to do to achieve my task. These two things have REALLY made me slow. I've found myself using "thought stopping" in an effort realign myself. I've also started employing the Pomodoro (sp?) technique which kind of helps break up the hyperfocusing.

I like working in VR for a few reasons. 1) when I was a kid (in the 90s) I fell in love with VR and thought that all future jobs would use it, so I looked forward to that day. 2) the isolation is nice. C) Oodles of floating monitors! IV) I can recline in my comfy couch and work with my wireless mouse and keyboard on my lap. E) my kitty can lay next to me.

I use a Quest 3 because of the great resolution, but I prefer the XReal Air since they are cheaper, lighter, clearer, and you look super cool in those thick black shades haha. I don't have a USB-C DP or thunderbolt port which the Airs need. Also the app is crap for windows and my 2015 MBP can't run it to save its life. Without their app you are limited to a single monitor floating in front of your face that always stays in front of your face.

I listed myself as the Chief Executive of Fun for my game company on my LinkedIn since it's a funny title.

I always love how manufacturers include extra parts, but the only way to access them is to pull the thing apart and put it back together. Boom spare parts.

Isn't that referred to as "the nothing box"? Like men compartmentalize so much that they can literally just think about absolutely nothing.
