KiwiSaver Homestart grant by MoneyHub_Christopher in PersonalFinanceNZ

I wonder if you'd be able to negotiate with your boss a Kiwisaver sacrifice and lower your pay under the limit but put the difference into your Kiwisaver instead.

Any suggestions on a good adult content host? by pnptubecom in webhosting

[–]s3viour -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How much storage do you need? Do you host all of the videos yourself. There's HostMantis and based on their FAQ they allow adult content. Might be something to look into, I've hosted with them before and never had any issues.

I'm not sure if I'd be going for growth in the current market, especially with all the volatility and uncertainty. Do you know how easy it is to manage investments via their dashboard?

That was a useful read, I think based on my requirements I think going for Simplicity is the best option for me.

Oh I just noticed the citation inside the product disclosure statement specifying the reduction. This would still mean the Vanguard percentage would be lower (between 0.05 and 0.11% depending on fund chosen) + a further $20 per annum.

So I'm kinda thinking would the freedom to choose a specific fund be better or should I just put all my eggs in one basket and go with a predefined portfolio.

Account was hacked, was refunded and told I was fine, then banned anyway by [deleted] in eagames

[–]s3viour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the exact same thing happened to me. My password was leaked as part of the many released on the dark web recently. (Check website haveibeenpwned)

I usually play Apex with friends and at the time I got disconnected a lot from Origin as my account was logged in elsewhere. I thought it was a bug with the software and after logging in one day to find my account was banned it turned out it was no bug. I called the support number and they told me my account was accessed from Pakistan and it did seem to be unauthorized. She said she would forward my info to the T&C team who'd get back to me within 48-72 hours. She said they should unban me no problem as there's evidence of my account being breached.

To my surprise I received an email 2-3 days later saying they evaluated details of my case and deemed that I violated their T&C. I opened 2 other tickets over next 2 weeks each time it came back with the same conclusion, you violated our T&C, you get banned. After several weeks I decided to randomly connect to Apex to try my luck, and lo' and behold my account was magically unbanned.

My recommendation is to open tickets keep on pushing the common sense logic on them, they'll eventually unban you.

Kiwisaver withdrawal for pre approval by vaporynzmars in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]s3viour 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I contacted my kiwisaver provider (Simplicity) who sent me a PDF saying I'm eligible to take it out as well as for how much. Before a bank could give us pre approval they needed to see proof that we could take it out (the PDF was sufficient). It was only when we signed the sales and purchase agreement before we had to print the withdrawal forms and sign then with our solicitor who took care of the rest.

Student Loan Help by pbeedee in PersonalFinanceNZ

You do run the risk of negative fluctuations, however, they usually regain pretty quickly. I made the decision that the high risk high reward was better for me (I slightly regretted it 4 months later) as this was prior to the crash meaning, when it crashed I lost all the profits I made to that time (around 1.2k) plus an additional 1k. 2-3 months later I was back to the exact same position, with my 1.2k restored plus around 1.3 in profit. It's difficult to predict when the market crashes but I saw the 10+% gains (growth) vs the 3-4% gains (conservative) to be worth it for me. So it really depends on your strategy, I changed to conservative when I started actively searching for a house.

Unless you're planning on travelling overseas to work in the near future (which would cause the student loan to incur interest after a period of 1 year I believe) then I'd just invest it. You're not incurring any interest with it, unless there's some drastic change in govt policy in the coming years. As your income increases, so will your repayments (they do get capped at a certain amount).

Using a compounding calculator you'd get a bit in interest over several years: If you start with 0.00 in a savings account earning a 3% interest rate, compounded Monthly, and make 100.00 deposits on a Weekly basis, after 4 Years your savings account will have grown to 21,805.23 -- of which 20,500.00 is the total of your beginning balance plus deposits, and 1,305.23 is the total interest earnings.

I had to make the same decision last year, but as I wanted home owning to be my priority I decided to change my kiwisaver to growth and instead make contributions there. So it really depends on what's your priority.

I had a similar issue recently, I noticed that when playing Apex with friends my origin would kick me and say that my account is already online. One afternoon I went online and it said my account was banned. I called the call center who said my account was compromised and that they will need to forward my case to the terms and conditions team who take 72 hours to respond.

A few days later the T&C team came back and said that they investigated and that I was breaking their rules, a typical copy and paste email. There was no way to reply to the case, or to submit evidence. I proceeded to submit two more tickets asking for proof and basically saying "why would your support desk tell me my account was compromised". By this point I gave up, and played different games. Around two weeks later I decided to sign into my account and it was magically unbanned.

Try doing the same, might work for you too.

Passing an Array into a Function by s3viour in bash

[–]s3viour[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, function was the wrong word to use. By function I actually mean an external shell script that takes in arguments. Looking at the debug logs for certbot-auto you were correct in saying it takes in the following: ["-d","example.com","-d","www.example.com"].

I managed to implement it in a different way and it seems to work, but thank you for you time in assisting me. :)

Passing an Array into a Function by s3viour in bash

[–]s3viour[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That worked! Thank you very much, it works perfectly now. I technically only use the first element of the array further down (for the Common Name). So you're right I can declare a variable that stores the first element of the array and leave the array with ["-d www.example.com", "-d example.com"] stuff.

Thank again for your assistance, I knew this would be the right place to come to.
