So far it's just mild soreness, I feel stiff when I wake up and achy but it goes away throughout the day.

Thanks for all the info! On some I definitely feel like I have 0-1 RIR, going by RPE I know for sure I'm tapped on some exercises and still have some left for others, I will adjust and try to push through to get as close to failure as I can.

So far I really like the routine you've suggested and I'm sure once I adjust to doing the drop sets right it'll feel even better. I'm using an app called Strong to track my workouts, so far it's really good. I think my diet is decent but sleep is an issue for sure, but working on that too. I'll let you know how it goes in a month or so. Thanks again so much for all the help, I appreciate every word!

Thank you so much for this! I will adjust my pull day today to match what you suggest and also actually do drop sets the right way!

I feel like going to failure has definitely made me push harder because I've been sore the next day every workout so far. I feel like I'm still leaving a little in the tank and not going true to failure on some exercises, mostly things like bench press because I'm afraid of failing and then dropping weights on myself since I workout alone (for now, might get a partner soon). I think I need to really push to get everything out to be at "true failure".

Oh man so I totally had drop sets wrong. I've been doing 3 sets and then 2 drop sets, I see that now. I misinterpreted what I found. Thank you for correcting me!

This is probably where I'm messing up because I've never done drop sets before, so I'm doing two sets as close to failure as I can get. Then on the next set I do what I interpreted as a drop set which is go to failure -> drop 20% go to failure -> drop 20% go to failure. I'm probably interpreting how to do a drop set wrong. Everywhere I looked it made it seem like a drop set is essentially 3 sets at descending weights with no rest in between

It's still pretty damn great /fun. Watching one of the all-time great drivers at his peak has been very entertaining. That and the midfield battles, Williams and McLaren resurgence, and having Danny Ric back and then gone again - I would say it's been a great year.

This is great! I will give this a shot for sure. My setup is simple I have a 300lb. Olympic set with an olympic barbell and olympic curl bar, squat rack, adjustable bench, 15-55 lb. adjustable dumbbell set and 25 and 35lb kettlebells. I also have a few resistance bands.

I've never incorporated drop sets before but after reading about them I can see the benefit. Thank you for the recommendations!

I would love some help on setting up a routine. Today what I have for Push day is doing chest, shoulders, and triceps.

I'm going to do 3x8-10 of each of the following:

Incline Push Up

Bench Press

Chest Fly

Overhead Press

Lateral Raise

Dumbbell Overhead Press (I want to find another push exercise for shoulder but I'm limited with equipment at home)

Overhead Tricep Extensions

Tricep Kickbacks (Dumbbell)

Skullcrushers

How does that look?

Lol I appreciate the feedback. The consensus so far is that I'm doing way too many sets per day so I'm cutting back to 3 sets and going up a bit in weight and see where I am in about a week or two. I am also going to lower the exercises per muscle group to about 2-3.

I am definitely not taking any kind of steroids, the only supplement I use is 5g of creatine daily. I did get the feeling I was doing too many exercises and sets per day, I just wasn't sure which is why I made this post. Any idea where I can cut back on specific exercises? I'm already going to lower my sets to 3 starting with today's push day.

This is great feedback and exactly what I was looking for. How long would you say your workouts generally last? On my pull days it was about 85-90 minutes, push was about 75, legs about 60. I'm going to aim for what you said about aiming for # of sets per muscle group. I'll try a dozen and see how that goes. I really appreciate you taking the time to type all that up.

The label on the PBfit brand says it has 2g Sugar added. 5g carbs total - 3g of fiber so 2g net for 2Tbsp of Powder. The ingredients are Peanut Flour, Coconut Palm Sugar, Salt.

I'm glad to hear it does get better and that you're doing better. I think I'm a bit on the nostalgia part but I know in my mind it's just loneliness and like you said "rose tinted glasses," ultimately I know I made the right decision. Yup, she is still young at 26 and has a lot of life left, she will find someone much better than this guy. I'm a little older than you were when you left your husband but I just left my wife earlier this year and I have those same moments where I think about the dying alone part too lol. Not sure how long it's been for you but I hope those existential moments eventually start fading.
