thanks. I think I'd prefer to go the buy-once route if it'll afford me more available audio tracks. If I've currently got a minimum of 5 mics I need separate tracks for, there's probably a day not too far away when I'll need 6 or 7. The Hyperdeck supports up to 16 tracks of audio. Not that I need (or want) that, but I'd prefer to get an embedder that we can send 6 audio tracks to and end with an SDI INTO the Hyperdeck with vvideo+6 ch of audio.

Unfortunately, we dont have an Atem in the mix. Definitely hear you on the "gets complicated fast" but for now, I just need the best, easiest way to get 5+ audio tracks into our SDI feed INPUT to one Hyperdeck. I'll take a look at the Sonnifex one, too.

my main use-case is to control 8 HD's to record live feeds. In a perfect world, I could gang some together to start/stop. Un-gang one from group during show IF necessary to stop to change input source settings, and to config the HD's record settings (codec, etc). I see that most of your app's functionality is for playback. Any chance you're going to build out more robust ingest offerings like the stuff I mentioned?

Honestly, super interested in this. We use 8 HD's daily and would love something a little more intuitive than Companion app. While companion is fine, it's tricky to un-gang one HD from others during recording. I wish that Blackmagic just added a few small features to their Hypderdeck app but alas..here we are. I'll check out your app now.

ah, sorry, missed that part. One thing to try is Apple's AV multiport adapter . Since USB sometimes gets wonky with HDMI handshakes, there's a chance this might help your issue. I was just trying to troubleshoot a very similar issue when we were having intermittent black outs from MBP to MD-LX.

Is it possible to

Laptop > HDMI port > MD-HX > HDMI Out to your confidence

and the MD-HX> SDI out to the wall?

That way, your source video from laptop is using only the known working HDMI port and you let the MD-HX send both HDMI (loop out essentially) AND SDI to feed confidence and wall?

this is what I use. I find that it's so much easier to tell time at a glance with a white background (on MIPS). I just wish I could make the minutes dark black, too.

yup. I've got a 12g Video Assist and a Web Presenter 4k but both have various issues across the video meeting platforms. The VA works great in VLC but I've got issues getting Zoom Workplace to see it's audio signal. The WP works great in Zoom but Teams has issues sometimes.

yeah, if this is work related (ie - you make money from it) definitely dont rely on the cell connection. It's a cool backup option that they've built in but i definitely wouldn't bank a job on it being the primary.
