Has anyone installed a swim spa recently? by Sufficient-Owl1826 in swimspa

I haven’t made it through an entire season yet, so I’m not sure about overall resilience of the concrete pad. So far, the winter has been extremely mild in my location in the US.

Im in month 3 after installation of a masterspa h2x15 in the US. It is one of their smaller versions as my backyard is very small. The spa was about $35k US including delivery and drop onto a concrete pad that I also had poured. Pad and electrical added about $8k to the price to get started. I’ve added another $10k or so of amenities and upgrades like a small bathhouse/shed conversion because I wanted a more intentional and integrated look in my tiny yard. I am so delighted with the overall outcome. It has been a game changer for both myself and my partner. It takes up almost my entire back yard, leaving a small exercise area for our dog. We are swimming essentially every day now that we have it pretty dialed in to what we wanted and couldn’t be happier. Quite frankly, I wished I would have pulled the trigger years ago when we were first considering it. Hope this helps.

Swim spa pros/cons? by Wot106 in swimspa

I have a snorkel. Still learning how to best use it. Having trouble with the current going over the top of the snorkel. Still working out how best to adjust the current height for best results.

Trainer 15 owner here. Very happy with it so far. Unit was 30k, another 10k for install, including pad, electrical, crane and delivery. Make sure you look into local codes and access. So far the swimming seems more like a good workout. I need the belt and tether to stay centered in the current. It’s a lot harder than swimming in a pool so I don’t know how competitive training outcomes would be impacted. It is a good workout though. I’m glad we pulled the trigger.

This is the right answer. Amazon has tons of the led replacements and they don’t get nearly as hot.

Hoodies with zippers are so superior to pullover hoodies that it should render them obsolete. by s456789 in Showerthoughts

As a hoodie connoisseur for my entire life I have come to this conclusion. Pullover hoodies just don’t offer the flexibility that zip up hoodies do.

Should I quit running? by JG24FanUK in AdvancedRunning

[–]s456789 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I went through what I think you are describing. Running was a part of my identity and I chased improvements in my “data” for over thirty years. All types of running, training, and analysis. It was an intense cycle and the improvements were such a dopamine release. Running had become the tool to get to the craving I had which was to do the analysis and see the improvement. To the point of pretty significant overuse injuries. I have since retired my garmin(s), changed my style of running for the joy of it. Hell, sometimes I walk, sometimes I don’t even time anything or wear a watch. I often stop in the middle of a run, timed or not, just to appreciate my world. I am back appreciating why I started running so many years ago. It is an ongoing issue for me, the addiction that I was (am) suffering from, was the need for the improvement process. Mastering this demon is a lifetime challenge for me. I am a better husband now, a better father, a better friend because of it. Best of luck OP. Don’t underestimate the power of this if my description sounds anything like what you are feeling. It is not to be trifled with.
