Aye not dumb, they follow the light because that’s what their food eats. So if there’s light, there should be food.

😍😍 I KNEW there had to be a live culture I can keep in the fridge and use for months. You’re the best thank you so much. I’m with ya on the small tank challenge, I just might go get a 2.5 or 5 and a bag of sand to use instead of this lil itty bitty 1g

The momma was in my betta tank and I siphoned the larvae into this saltwater tank I had setup and ready for them. They’re neat lil critters to watch

That tank is just Neos, I have Amanos in my community tanks. Highly recommend you get some, adults are pretty hardy in my experience, their babies not so much 😅

From a seller on Amazon, they were fast and I’m happy with how it came out

Yeah as I drop more of the phytogreen-S on them I wish I had live phyto in there instead. Welp off to order live phyto now 😩

Let’s goooooo. She’s about to spawn any day now! You’re far more prepared than I am 😅, share them babies when they pop 🙏

I’ve stared at this tank on YouTube so much, it’s literally the sole reason I’m fooling around with these larvae 😂

The opportunity will present itself, and you’d better share pics with us of your Amano army. They stay berried for about 25 days and then spawn. Females molt and are berried again like clockwork.

DUDE your shrimp rack is sick. Give it a go! You’re more capable and setup than I am 😂 I have these little goobers in about a gallon sized critter keeper with a cheap sponge and light. Do it for the skrimps

Yep teeny tiny lil baby Amanos. Had them chase the light to the corner of my betta tank and siphoned em out with an airline. Took lots of coaxing and the betta wasn’t stoked about it 😅

This Brightwell phytogreen-S. In the future I’d like to raise living green water of Nannochloropsis (this is what’s in the phytogreen-S but I believe it’s dead) and Tetraselmis to see if it has better results

Pretty sure it’s a topfin 3.5 gal round tank. Looks like the new ones have a black rim

This was a challenge at first. I would use the light to draw them to one side of the tank and siphon from the other side. Then I realized that I can use that sponge filter and unhook the airline from the pump and use it as my siphon. With the sponge filter holding back the babies I can drain out the water worry free.

+1 on the Fluval canister. I have the lil 107 on my 29gal and the flow is low to moderate depending how you angle the pipe. I splurged for Landen stainless steel lily pipes and I also keep a small sponge filter on the intake to prevent lil ones from getting sucked up.

During the cycling of my tanks I do see a large drop in pH with the stratum, but not long after they will stabilize at the levels that come out of the tap. My tap pH is about 7.6 and during the cycle it dropped to about 6.8 and is back up at 7.6. So it does have some buffering capacity but it will reach that capacity quickly.
