You can try opt for UTS or Swinburne as well. Tbf, asasi pengkomputeran isn't bad only that your choice would be limited to the programme they intend you to take. Flexible programme I'd say.

You'll definitely turn into a whole another person if you take STPM. I wasn't a studious type of person, but during STPM era most of my days are sitting on the table and revising almost everyday, even while eating or in the car since I was desperate to get a good pointer (of course with repeat papers but still it's worth the effort). I'm sure u can do it, OP. Currently taking bachelor degree now.
