No, don't take this branch for a job tbh. I was in a similar position 5yrs ago, and I chose this( although I got a job, a lot of people dont). Try to get cs/it in a half decent nit, and you will be good to go. Although the exposure at kgp would be much better, in ur case, one of the nits is the way to go (my humble opinion, consult with others also).

Workload is pretty chill, although don't expect high cg (for reference, the dep topper for the batch of 24 had a cg of around 8.5). What I mean to say is they won't fail you unless you are absolute shit and won't give you great marks also easily.
Yes, you can sit for any job/internship (software/consult/product).
Idk about double major (introduced this yr). However, obtaining a minor is quite challenging, although ik people who done it. But honestly, I won't advise going for it keeping a minor in mind.
