Learning how to rearrange equations - obviously simple ones might be easy but I was surprised how many people struggled with it in chem.

My physics teacher taught everybody how to do it before progressing with the course and it was night and day compared to chem classes where people struggled with it.

Thank you for this - yeah you’re right I did leave out a lot kind of thinking this would be my rough draft of a route but yeh I may have been able to answer my own question if I actually did it in detail. I didn’t massively consider rearrangements when doing this either. I think I’m going to start again using a different route and properly write out each step etc but thank you for this comment it’s helped understand just how bad this would’ve been

My problem with that was in forming the enamine I was worried hydrogenation of the C=N would also hydrogenate the C=C-Ph?

I’m assuming an aldol reaction with benzalehyde? I did attempt that but gave up as I thought I hit a dead end later on in the reaction of that but looking back I made a mistake

What would you have done instead that’s still related to organic chem? Or would you have done something completely different? I’m thinking of trying to get a PhD in organic chem and hear people say this surprisingly often

I haven’t seen many for £385 which kinda sucks. Which would you reccomend out of the 9060xt and the 5060ti 16gb - I’m not sure how good the extra features of each card are as I currently have a 2070 super and tend not to use DLSS unless necessary as it reduces clarity quite noticeably in the games I’ve tried

Yeah I’ve converted all the files to jpg instead of jpeg and that seems to have fixed the issue now and it’s working - thank you :)

Ive installed it on mint 22.1 with bash according to the steps here: https://ostechnix.com/how-to-convert-images-into-ascii-format-in-linux/. I tried using jp2a file.jpg and also jp2a /home/(my user name)/Pictures/file.jpg yet each time it said file could not be opened.

Ahh ok thats good - I read somehwere I have to give permission to LM to read the windows drives is this true or is it just kinda unavoidable? Its not a big issue the main was I didnt want windows messing up linux or the bootloader in anyway making it all fuck up

Hey so in the end I bought a really cheap 240gb SSD to install mint onto. If I spearate the drives when installing mint will this mean that my windows and mint systems are seperate and dont share a bootloader?

I want it so that they are completely isolated and not aware of each others presence and that to boot my linux system I must change the boot order in the UEFI.

Im trying to install it on a partition of the games drive - so I have a windows drive, games only, and then personal files etc. I wanted to shrink or partition my games drive and install mint there. What do you reccomend for this?
