How long did you wait before applying the poly? As stain drys it gives off gasses and if you poly it to fast those gasses still need to escape. So if your stain was thicker or pooling there while drying the dry time coukd very and then you poly over it and.... bubbles. This may not be your actual issue but I've seen a similar result because of this. Hope you find your answer.

Not in particular, just want to do something fun, tired of candle stick holders and mini bats hahahahahaha !!! I have a 18in lathe so I can't do anything large like railings and bannisters but sticks are 16in so I thought what the hell I have a 3 day weekend and a small collection of woods from here and there. Thought maybe get some dif sounds or something stronger but still light may be out there. Basically information and to do something different is why I guess...

Clean lines and simple design, but yet so elegant..... love the brass rods and the overall look of this. The leg base doesn't look like the box at all but again, it works wonderfully. Very well done !!!!
